Thanks NYC
As of yesterday, everything is all Brent Favre 24/7, which makes surfing the sporting news unpalatable.
We’ll never forget you Brent.
Thanks NYC
Le Kevin seems like a good guy. Good to add a positive guy who knows the system.

I handled that.
Peter King was getting out of line. So I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.
Yes. I sent Coach Cable to have a word with him.

Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.
Favre has been irrelevant ever since Elway kicked his ass in SB XXXII. His legacy will be remembered as a joke, despite his records. Had he retired a Packer, and actually stayed retired, I would have a great deal more respect for him.

That is what is sad
This has only just chipped away at his legacy.
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.
Peter King
Whatever happened to his huge man crush on Brett Favre? He used to looooooove him and his Brett-ness.
I think Peter's had it with Farve
… He’s made King look like a fool too many times in the last 15 months. You’d think Farve’d at least throw him a bone and give him the scoop after all King’s done for him (and you know King’ll be the first one casting the vote for Farve in the Hall of Bias when it comes time for it).
Belief is accepting something because you’ve been convinced to do so, whether you like it or not. Faith is accepting something because you want to accept it.

Good job Guru!

My Question on Favre is:
Am I the only one that watched him play last year? I must be, because based on the way he played— especially later in the season— this signing should carry the weight of an A.J. Feeley signing. This guy can’t and won’t save anybody anymore. He is more an anchor than a catalyst at this point, IMO.
And Brett Favre is probably my all-time favorite non-Bronco (though the last couple of years are taxing my patience)…so I don’t think I’m operating from a sour-grapes position here.
Thanks as always NYC.

If the Williamses are actually suspended....
Rolling the dice in the passing game, cowboy-style, might be the best play for the team.
They had this same talke last year
about when he signed with the Jets. Are they a contender now? How many games will the Jets win and will they win the East? Well, No and the amount of wins is pointless because they chocked and missed the playoffs. Now here we go again. Are the Vikings one of the top teams in the NFC now. Nooooooooo.
I never had any bad feelings toward Favre til that game against the Broncos on MNF. The annoucers would stop talking about Favre and then with the offseason situtation with GB, my respect for him was gone.
NYC said it best in the headlines of this post “Favre shows again why Elway is the Greatest Ever” Not that there was a debate to begin with.

I do see one big difference, in that the Jets were a terrible team pre-Favre. He had a lot to do with them looking like contenders (until the Broncos came to town). Yes, they eventually collapsed (much to my Jets-hating delight) – but they did still finish with a winning record at 9-7. No, that’s not what we aim for, but going from a 4-win team to a 9-win team is always impressive and notable – every time.
I’m not saying the results will be different in Minnesota – I have no idea how it will turn out. But, the Vikings need much less out of Favre than the Jets did last year, for what that’s worth…

ESPN and New York Newsday
reporting that the Broncos are “very concerned” about their running game.
As the story goes, the Broncos hope to have Moreno back for week 1, but they are not at all happy with the depth. Buckhalter’s knees are said to be bothering him, according to the report. And the reporter intimated that he doesn’t think the Broncos consider Hillis a viable second or third option.
From ESPN’s First Take.
That can't be right
Hillis was looking impressive on Friday, as far as I’m concerned. He is the second option at RB. Should they give Tatum Bell a call?
One thing I noticed...
…and this might get me killed here at MHR, but Hillis showed no lateral burst on Friday. They kept pulling the guard, which worked if he cleared the hole, but if Hillis had to try to bounce it, he got stopped. He is pretty easy to tackle low if he can’t line you up.
Long story short— HIllis looked great if he could go down hill. He didn’t look so great when that option was taken away. I remain unconvinced that he is a viable 2nd option at RB and that overusing him as ball-toting TB will mitigate his overall value.

But Jordan and Buckhalter did less
with our line he should be able to clear the hole frequently and get down hill often.
But I think you’re right he’s more valuable being always on the field as a FB and occasionally getting a carry or a pass.
Maybe we resign Torain once he is healthy.
Jordan looks washed up to me. I have more confidence in Buckhalter. And when Moreno comes back next week, that will be a nice boost.
Love the Broncos, don't like their Coach.
I agree about re-signing Torain
no matter what, IF he’s healthy (which is always a big if in his case) he’s going to be a lot better than Lamont Jordan. Buckhalter should be fine.
ESPN is a retard... :)
Hillis is an animal and his 5 yard per carry average supports his ability to carry the rock
Relieved to hear
that the draft pick we gave up for LK Smith is going to Oakland from NE to complete the Burgess trade. I have much more faith in Oakland screwing up a draft pick than NE.
Well the best way to look at it
is that Oakland traded a DE to NE so that they could trade one to us. They subsidized our defense.
Me: Thanks Al… um… Al
Cable: He can’t here you now.
Me: Oh sad, so… how’s the fist?
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.
If anyone else is keeping track
Marcus Thigpen is wearing the #38 Jersey. And I believe it has already been stated here, but Le Kevin Smith has #72, Pat Murray’s old number.

hey a question?
was farve arm surgury the same one that elway had a couple years before he retired? it seem to me that it was a lig injury in his throwing arm. my point is could elway throw much better after that so could farve arm stregth come back?
No
Elway’s was a Bursa sac and Favre’s was a torn Bicep. A bursa is a slippery, sac-like tissue that normally allows smooth movement around bony prominences, such as the point behind the elbow. So you see, they are on opposite sides of the arm.

"No, I'm from Iowa, I only work in outer space."
Actually Elway ruptured his biceps tendon.
No one knew how it would affect his throwing motion. but it turned out to improve it because pain was gone. Farve also had a biceps tendon tear but in a different area that affects throwing motion more, as well as a rotator cuff tear which definitely affects throwing motion. Elway also had an olecrenon bursa resection which was totally unrelated and didn’t affect his throwing motion. Farve should have less pain throwing now than he did late last season as a result of his surgery.
Imagination is more important than knowledge. A. Einstein
No problem
You are way more qualified to answer this question. I was just trying to help out. I was only going by a partial memory. Also, I thought that Favre had more of a rotator cuff type injury, but wasn’t totally sure. Thanks.
