PrintLook at the Chiefs. They signed Cassel to a 63 million dollar deal, and there's rumors coming out that he's not even going to start. Apparently the Todd Haley system doesn't translate well from Josh McDaniels system.
Look at the Raiders. The Head Coach knocked out an assistant not unlike from what you would see on a Klingon starship. If I had to guess, I bet Nolan and Rick Dennison would be the toughest on our staff.
Look at the Chargers. The pieces of that team have been Super Bowl Caliber for the last few seasons. Yet they laid an egg on their first preseason game. Is it Norv Turner? Or does the whole team in general underachieve?
Sure we had our problems with Cutler and now with Marshall. But at least we didn't sign Orton to an extravagent contract, or our coaches duking it out. The San Francisco Game showed us that the team was hungry and played with a good intensity. Orton will bounce back, if not hey we didn't spend that much on him and we have more than capable replacement in Chris Simms.
I think we'll surprise and at least get a wild-card spot with a 10-6 record

EVERYTHING can get worse
But there are some things that DON’T get any better.
Take what you want from that, but to me it helps me to focus on the positives and not take them for granted (as much, I wish I could say – ever – but alas, being human comes into play)
First team to three consecutive SB wins!!!! and then some, right? I think four and we oughtta let someone else have a fair shot : )

Tom Cable's a thug.
He’s worse than most of the players on that team. JeMarcus the Hutt wouldn’t even hit a guy…he would probably eat him, but that’s all.
As for KC, I think they’ve got a lot of work to do, not saying that they can’t be good because I think they can be…but it’s going to take some time.
SD is a lost cause. The whole world will see exactly how good they are when LT can’t tote the rock more than 14 times a game, and Antonio Gates can’t make a catch up the middle because Dawkins literally will rip his arms off.
And we’ll see how Cromartie is trying to reach over BMarsh’s head—-I got a teaser for you: It’s not going to happen.

Casell looked bad in Pre-week 1… and Haley has stuck Bowe on the 3rd string team. It looks like the Chiefs have another “rebuilding” year ahead of them… It is turning into a rebuilding “decade”
The reports yesterday were that the SF defense absolutely destroyed the Raiders Offense in an scrimmage. JMarcus the Hut threw three picks and the whole offense got taunted by Clements. Dre Bly called it “Total Domination”. Wonder why those 3 int’s in a practice didn’t make the MSM headlines…

Orton looked good at times and bad at others. I think it’s easy to look at the game’s box score, see the three picks and then assume that Orton played badly. As for me, I’m going to defer to Styg’s analysis of Orton’s performance.

Some of the raider fans actually look like Klingons

They also look like:
Pirates, Darth Vader, crappy other star wars characters, a ghost dressed all in black, misfit track stars (Al Davis only), creatures from the black lagoon, WoW characters (thanks Jay Mohr), thugs, gang members, knife-toting cheap shots, biker gang members, Slayer fans (the bad ones). They also look like: People that never got off the “Crazy Train”, a RATT reunion gone awry. And finally, my favorite: They look like a Dick’s Sporting Goods gone to hell with those stupid spikes on shoulder pads.
I wonder though, how many of those idiots carries knives and crank inside those shoulder pads? I know those spikes can’t be solid, there’s got to be something inside there, like a hefty eight-ball to keep the “black hole” spinning round and round.

I'd send Marshall to the Faiders if he keeps up his poor attitude...
If Marshall doesn’t get his head on straight soon, I’d send him west bound for the Silver and Crack’s 2010 2nd rounder (since it’ll be pretty much a 1st rounder anyways) and Chaz Schilens. Chaz is 6-4 and played every game last year, is a good blocker, but recently broke his foot and will be out 8 weeks…so maybe not.
Then, we can have B-Dawk crush B-Marsh all game twice a year and make him regret his whining while in Denver.
But, supposedly, things are clearing up between BMarsh and Co, so yeah….
