Football Helmets
Football helmets ION 4D by Schutt( thanks to Newby for the info)
Ok I know this doesn't pertain to Broncos but I can not seem to find any answers. Why doesn't any NFL teams use this type of helmet?(21 from penn state) I do not watch too much college football and from what I have seen is Penn state wears them and maybe 1 or 2 other teams. Any ideas, I just think these helmets look wicked and would bring extra fear along with our Offense and new bad ass new orange crush like defense.. I would also like to see a new logo. GO BRONCOS

Umm....Can
there be another option? Leave the Logo….and the helmets?

About those helmets
Those are actually safer helmets too. They look meaner, and prevent A LOT more concussions. The problem is the vanity of the league, for some reason most players like the old “dome” style helmet, and the league doesn’t feel it should mandate the safer helmet. Many High Schools and Colleges require them now. Hmmm

Go figure
Lets hope that by the time they make it to the pros they will be asking for that helmet. Thanks for the info.

Some players do use them
Are those the Revolution Speed helmets? Some players do use them. Here’s Brandon Jacobs, for example: http://espn.go.com/photo/2007/0827/pg2_u_bjacobshelmet_450.jpg
I do agree. These helmets do look fierce. I would like to see our current design on one of these.
Regarding our current logo, I personally think it is still very modern and still the best in the NFL. I might be a little biased, but seriously, who comes close? ;)

Stokley has a new helmet this year.
It looks very similar to these.

These helmets are not new
They’ve been out for a couple years now and it’s up to the individual player to choose if they want to wear them or not.

You're right, they're not new
A number of guys are wearing these. Hamilton should be – is he?

I like them
As you know from my article on concussions, I’m very concerned with the long term effects of multiple head injuries – the current research is daunting, to say the least. I’m glad that these are available, but I hope that they make them standard (if they work well).
It reminds me of the late 60s in hockey, when only cowards (to be polite) were going to wear helmets. Now people understand the importance and they’re standard.

Yes couldn't agree more about the hockey helmets
If my memory serves me right. I had watched a show or read an article on how this dentist made a special mouth piece that reduced concussions. He was New England I think and tried it on a high school that had a lot of concussions. After using it for a few years I believe concussions were to almost zero.
With new safer helmets and better mouth pieces maybe players will take to them and help out their long term health.

Hockey Helmets
I remember seeing a show not too long after helmets were required in the NHL that showed the inside of Wayne Gretsky’s helmet was a sticker saying that it was not for hockey use!

I think this is a bad ass looking helmet. Not to mention how kick ass safe it is.
