BMarsh's New Team Uniform - Part Deux
Brandon Marshall will complete his suspension soon. I decided in a show of good faith to delete the previous "BMarsh's New Team Uniform" Why?
BMarsh should have another chance to show to us and the world that he can grow up and be a man. BMarsh deserves another chance to show us and the world that he is every bit a deserving top-5 NFL wide receiver. Let him show his talents on the field this year. If he still truly believes that somewhere over the rainbow a better life awaits, then the team continues to try and accomodate his trade request.
Some of you don't want anything to do with him. Some are cautiously unenthusiastic. Some are cautiously optimistic. Others say pay the man he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think you will find that there are those on MHR who hold every one of those opinions.
I voted for cautiously optimistic and give him a chance. What do you think and why?

I voted for undecided, but let’s give him one more chance.

I did the same
however I am not holding my breath since nothing has really waken him up yet. It is all up to him.

He's still on the team
So he gets another chance. But, he’s going to have to show up and show me something by doing the job we all believe he can, without the fanfare and drama. Do your job like a pro for a few months, and I’m sure you will get the security and reward you seek.
I’d love to see that happen, but I probably won’t be sold on him until he does it for a couple more seasons.
How many more chances should he get?
He’s been suspended by the League, his own team, he’s had multiple legal issues, he had involvement in the D-Will tragedy, has demanded trades, and as recently as a few days ago was purposefuly dropping passes, walking instead of sprinting, and kicking balls away from ball boys. How many “just one more chances” do you give a guy?
I’ll cheer for the team to win if he’s playing for us (of course), and I hope any plays he’s involved with go well. But I have a hard time wanting someone on my team that doesn’t even want to be on the team himself. In his own mind, he isn’t a Bronco. I feel the same.

no argument
somewhere a line has to be drawn.
He’s eligible to come back on Sept 6. That’s his “another” chance. If he shows up, plays and keeps his act clean off the field, great. If he doesn’t, bench him again, and let him know he blew his final chance to establish any kind of value for a trade.

Those are my exact feelings HT

I definitely agree (cont)
(sorry, hit enter from subject field and it posted)
I am not sure he has actually had a clear and concise pattern of consequences laid out for him yet. He may be perceiving all of the consequences as “random” (I know that sounds ludicrous, but trust me, it is not if you are in a state of victimism).
The suspension is directly linked to his behavior, and the next suspension will be, again. Perhaps the next one is permanent. Go Home. Perhaps he’ll get one more chance…anything after that, I can’t imagine there will be more.
Give him a chance
I say that he is welcome to have another chance…….if he cleans up his act. If he can show he wants to play, I mean REALLY SHOW IT.
If he can handle the playbook, be proffesional, and grow up a bit in the next 2 weeks then he can have a chance in my opinion.
We all know that in order for our WR core to be productive we need the big threat to take pressure off Royal….i mean hell, how many YAC did Royal get? (I actually don’t know the number but it was decent).
Just think if Marshall had been on the other side taking some coverage away. Royal would have nearly twice the yardage, Orton would have thrown nearly 25% less total passes, and we suddenly open the running game just a bit more, which is all it appears to need.
We are so close you a great team it kills me. Its not Orton. Orton is fine. Not great. Not spectacular, not exciting either, but fine.
But the rest of our team is on the cusp of greatness, and either Marshall or another big WR presence will make a HUGE difference in our total offense. So let the guy prove he WANTS the chance…..then give it to him.

Of course another chance
I figure the whole reason for the pre-season suspension is to create a boundary, a line that is not to be crossed.
It is for teaching, for helping development of a child (oops, he’s not a child, but honestly, maybe he still is…).
I can’t imagine it would be good for a child’s development to, after they make a mistake, you punish them to the full extent and then hold it against them forever. If they are going to learn, they need another chance to try after witnessing the consequences of their own behavior.
Progressive consequenses is perfect, especially if you lay out the final line early.
Now that he has crossed a boundary and felt the consequences, warn him of what will happen the next time. It will be much worse…
I'll always keep a door open on a guy after his suspension
Still, as far as it goes, I’m not holding my breath. Marshall has found interesting and imaginative ways to mess up his own life, over and again. I’ll be happy for him if he works things out, and unsurprised if he doesn’t. You can only get worked up so many times, and then it’s just moderately boring

Trade
Lets trade him for Umenyiora.
Tis better not to throw it to the deep receiver but the open receiver.
To me there really is no need for another chance with BM
Look, he has been given multiple chances, he had Rod Smith mentoring him and now Rod wants nothing to do with him, he has been given chances by the league and Broncos after doing some very stupid and immature and cowardly actions, and yet he spits on everyone who has wanted to help him or support him.
Before this (at the end of last season) I would have been happy to have the Broncos rework the deal and give him a raise, I thought he deserved it based on his production and what had appeared to be a true change in how he conducted himself. But with the incident in Atlanta and the crap during pre-season, obviously he has not changed and will continue to act like a fool. I wish the Broncos had just seen that he hadn’t or wouldn’t change and traded him earlier. Basically, it is time to cut bait and let him go be someone else’s problem, hell I would call the Raiders and see if Al Davis would trade for his sorry ass right now, I bet we could get Michael Bush and some draft picks.

Now a days this is just how it is!!!
For a number of years I was a foreman for a large construction company and I can tell you that things have changed through the years… From my experience when I entered the work force and where I entered it you worked your butt off and you never said no to overtime or anything else your boss asked because there were at least three guys waiting in line to take your job and they would say “yes sir or no sir” but things have changed I saw my job as a foreman change from quality control to “babysitter” it seemed like with each generation of workers coming along I was dealing way more with personality problems then construction problems. Prima dona’s would come along and if I wanted to get the job done I had to try to get it done with the guys my boss sent me. Not that I didn’t send a few packing but I’m telling you this is just that way iot is now a days… HCMcD has already sent one packing and I say that could have been avoided and so does Pat Bowlen when he said his rookie coach made some mistakes. McDaniels is just going to have to find a way to work with what he’s got and Marshal is an asset that help him get the job done, hey it’s the world we live in like it or not…

Start him in Cincinnatti
List him as the starter, and make sure Orton throws the ball his way on the first play. See if he knocks the ball down then. And if he does, whoa wow wow(!), he’ll be the laughing stock of the league. But I don’t think he would. He’s not that stupid. If he half-asses it, then the Broncos can say “Hey, we offered him the chance to play for a better contract. And here we are.”
