We have a potentially really good coach, and a recent article by Don Banks got me thinking about something I already was. He brought up the question that Josh is definitely good enough to be a head coach in this league, but will he not get a fair chance to prove that out before we get impatient with him. He was wondering if the broncos fire him will it be another team that benefits from the learning he is getting here in Denver. He brings up points that Josh will not get a honeymoon period because of the off season we have had. As a fanatic fan of the broncos I want what's best in the long term for the team. I think we need to give McDaniel's a real chance, and be more patient. I was at the stadium the other night and hearing the boos was discouraging, where is the support for the team? Lombardi wrote in one of his diner morning news that Denver fans are being way too impatient and that if we don't start at least 2-1 then the fans will start to turn against the team and ultimately the coach. I think this is riduculous, what are we so mad at anyways? I want to win as bad an anyone, but McDaniel's said before the draft that we were about 6 players away. That is a more honest take then the Shanahan regime that made us believe we were only a player away. Are we booing because of the Cutler situation? I was watching Tony Dungy tonight who has had less than glowing words for Cutler. He was asked if he would trade Cutler, his response was not if you thought he a franchise QB. Dungy not not say he was one, and many others don't think he is a franchise QB as well. So McDaniel's didn't think Cutler was worth it and got a lot for him in return, and I don't fault him much. Dungy said quarterbacking is about handling pressure and decision making two areas Cutler is lacking. So I plead with you fellow fans lets give McDaniel's a honeymoon and a honest chance. I like many of areas Josh has addressed. He is smart and Belicheck had had nothing but positive things to say about him in interviews. So fans we need to prove we are the best fans in the NFL by offering our support. I want to believe that McDaniel's is the answer, and would hate to see him leave and some other team reap the rewards that could be ours.
