Cleveland may be seeking BMarsh?
There are plenty of rumors circulating. I think many teams could be positioning for BMarsh, recognizing that once a player does something like BMarsh did, he can't remain with that team. Its a shame though if the tactic is proven to work, but Denver has to worry about whats best for its season and not the NFL in general, right?
I was very surprised to see Cleveland listed as a team that requested O'Connell off the waiver wire. They have two QBs that are starter level quality (arguably mediocre to good) and Ratliff who Mangini knew prior to going to Cleveland and traded for already. It makes absolutely no sense to claim O'Connell off waivers unless they are looking to trade someone.
Who could that be??? Well it could be a Quinn/Anderson trade to another team and O'Connell adds depth, but that seems unlikely. Based on their lack of an elite WR, they could be looking hard at angles to get Marshall. O'Connell is a nice sweetner for any deal, considering how McDaniels likes his former pupils. I haven't heard any rumors linking Cleveland and Denver in trade talks, but this waiver claim will surely start raising eyebrows.
We'll see.....any thoughts??

How about
Quinn and Edwards for marshall and….a 3rd rounder?
I'd take Quinn too, but
thats just a lot of drama for one team to have….you know the MSM will be all over a team with 3x decent QBs….one rough game and the media fiasco will start up…..I don’t know if anyone wants that.
I like the value of such a trade straight up though….at this point at least. As far as B. Edwards……I think he’s a bum….somethings wrong with him and it ain’t a Cleveland specific problem
This Cleveland rumor is very interesting...
Has anyone also reported on the Jets reportedly in discussions with the Broncos? That’s what I heard on the radio this morning on my way into work…
I really don't see a QB trade
As BideshiBronco said above, too many decent to good quarterbacks on a team would be detrimental. We’d need to deal Simms or Orton in order to clear room for Quinn. I think I’d rather see an upgrade at SOLB, SILB, or DE first. Maybe OT depth, since I don’t think the new staff is sold on Polumbus or Gorin. Picks would be nice, too.
I could see the Jets or Ravens making a move, but I really don’t know if we’ll get value for Marshall at this point. He almost has to come ready to play week one if he’s going to get himself any kind of reasonable deal anywhere.
Jets
Saw a rumor that jets are interested but are balking on giving up a no 1 draft pick.
Mike and Mike
on the radio this morning talked about the Jets’ interest in Marshall.

Let them balk.
I just never understood hesitating to give up a first round draft pick for a proven talent. Yes, I know Marshals antics are in play here, but really. If you are willing to take him on (as they seem to be), you are getting a pro-bowl WR in place of a first round draft choice that may or may not work out (think Jarvis Moss).
Tell me if any of these names ring a bell. This is taken off a website called Sporting News NFL:
Their top 10- 1st round draft picks of the last 20 years (in reverse order):
10-CB Adam “Pacman” Jones, Titans (No. 6 overall, 2005).
9- QB Heath Shuler, Redskins (No. 3 overall, 1994).
8- WR Peter Warrick, Bengals (No. 4 overall, 2000).
7- QB David Klingler, Bengals (No. 6 overall, 1992).
6- RB Blair Thomas, Jets (No. 2 overall, 1990).
5- QB Akili Smith, Bengals (No. 3 overall, 1999).
4- T Mike Williams, Bills (No. 4 overall, 2002).
3- WR Charles Rogers, Lions (No. 2 overall, 2003).
2- QB Ryan Leaf, Chargers (No. 2 overall, 1998).
1- OL Tony Mandarich, Packers. (No. 2 overall, 1989).
A first round draft pick is still a gamble, and a very expensive one. With Brandon, there is no guessing what you get. If you are willing to take on his problems (and by trying to trade for him you are saying “yes” to that) then what is a first rounder?
Just my opinion.

Correction to the above
this list is the top ten draft busts, not top 10 draft choices. Sorry about the mistake.

Agreed... I've said the same thing many a time before
1st rounders can be a complete crap shoot… the Draft as a whole can be a crap shoot. Also, think the opposite way and you’ll find your Tom Brady’s, TD’s, Jerry Rices, Rod Smiths, Shannon Sharpes, etc etc.
And that’s why I was never thrilled about the Cutler trade. =/
Pretty sure Shaun still wants out too.

I'd take SR
in a heartbeat. His presence would help fortify the front seven, and we could draft a WR next draft to try and fill some of the production left on the table. Dez Bryant anyone?
Take my advice, I'm not using it !!!
Dez Bryant, Arrelious Benn, Jordan Shipely, Demetrius Byrd, Damian Williams
Could be a good year for college WRs, especially, with the current corp of college QBs.
I’d like to think of drafting Terrance “Mt.” Cody even after trading for Shaun. Shaun is athletic enough to play 3-4 DE and I think he’d excel there next to a mountain like Cody.

NOT EDWARDS
that guy has butter fingers. I would take Quinn, hes young and has a little understanding of McDs offense from weis and not manginin
live and die blue and orange
Why take another project at QB?
It’s logical that Cleveland would deal one of their current QB’s if they were able to pick up O’Connell, but they didn’t. Detroit got him. Why would the Browns consider Marshall as a receiver, though? He’s of the most troubled diva’s on the market, and he’ll want a big contract as soon as a team trades for him. Plus, they have their own headache with Braylon Edwards.
O’Connell was waived, not traded. I doubt he, by himself, would fetch more than a 7th rounder.
Marshall is worth more on the field than he would be in a trade. At least until he increases his tarnished value. I’ll bet he’s already changed his tune and will be playing by week one or two.
I like Brady Quinn....
this will never happen though. Looks like we might ship BMarsh to the Jets for some draft picks. uhg.
Verbose in style, dispersion of thought, procrastination in life.
At this point
it would be a coup to get anything in return, imo.

Jets?
I have heard the Jets are interested in Marshall. What would they have to offer for him that is worth it for Denver?
Vernon Gholston and a 2nd or 3rd round pick?

A big N-O on Gholston.
Athletic freak, terrible football player. Just doesn’t have any football instincs and a surprising lack of pass rush moves.
If the Jets tried to pawn Gholston off on us, I’d demand nothing less than 2 firsts . Because we’d be paying a lot of $$$ for no production.

I think they may be interested, but I doubt McDaniels will allow
Marshall to go to Cleveland and help the hoodie arch enemy in Mangini.
At this point I would call Al Davis and see what that koot would give us.
