Spencer Larsen Out "A Few Weeks"

I didn't see this posted anywhere, but apparently Spencer Larsen fell in the shower and hurt his shoulder

Linebacker Spencer Larsen, a sixth-round draft pick in 2008, reportedly slipped and fell on a wet spot on the floor.  Larsen has a shoulder injury, and he'll miss a "few weeks."

The Associated Press surmises that Larsen suffered the injury less than 90 minutes before kickoff, because Larsen wasn't on the list of inactive players for the Week One game at Cincinnati.

Coach Josh McDaniels said that the injury wasn't the result of horseplay.  (And since NFL head coaches always tell the truth, we believe it.)

there went my prediction of starting by week 3 =)

Andra Davis played so well...

…that you might have been wrong anyway. But this is a bummer.

A man does what he has to do, and sometimes it’s not what I believe he should do. There’s no reason to use up energy hating him for it. Shoot him if you have to, but don’t hate him.

that begs the question: are you not a andra davis fan?

he’s been a mixed bag for me since the preseason game where he failed to stop a ballcarrier behind the LOS on a 3rd and short. in yesterday’s game, he missed an open-field tackle that went for good yardage. but otherwise he’s had a much bigger presence than DJW. some pretty nice plays (i believe three tackles for losses).

from what I saw in preseason he was “ok” against the run but looked way too slow against the pass when they chose to pass on a running down. He couldn’t get across the field and was a liability. He looked faster yesterday, however, they also didn’t put anyone across the short middle of the field to receive the ball either

I have nothing against him as a person =)

I was one of the many against Andra starting prior to the game, but boy did he look good! Great surprise!

On the other hand, I thought DJ looked slow, tentative, and ineffective pretty much the whole game. I feel that if he can get fired up and play good ball, our D will get another boost.

Sure enough

Larsen and Simms are the only ones on the active/did-not-play list. Spencer has a place in Broncos lore for the “60-minute man” performance (Played O, D, and ST in a game near the end of the season) last year. Hope he’s good soon; not too flashy, but a real contributor.

Bummer

Special teams take a hit here. He’s a monster on coverage.

Where will you be on October 1st, 2009 at 6:45 PM Mountain Time?

Oh no, am I going to have to switch my signature for 2-3 weeks?

I agree, Larsen shouldn’t get any bigger. I am getting tired of his bone crushing hits knocking the pixels off my TV, once they fall to the floor they are very hard to find.
