They just won’t stop pestering Bmarsh. Good on him for calling them on it, yet staying professional.
Thanks NYC!

Morning NYC
Sure seems strange not having the annual story about Shanny taking it to Davis for unpayment of services rendered. So special thanks to Broncoman for injecting a little of the old rivalry into our discussion this week, and reminding us why the Faiders just don’t compare. ^^
Conversation nonstarters: hoping McDaniels fails, comparing Bears to Broncos, Cutler to Orton, apples to oranges, and casual drinkers to Raiders fans.

Marquand Manuel... brings back painful memories
That story in SI about Detroit had a nice tidbit near the bottom about their new starting safety Marquand Manuel.
I’ve said this before and I’m sticking to it. Marquand Manuel was the worst/least talented/most ineffective Bronco starter at any position in a decade, maybe three decades.
Now he starts for Detroit and they have the worst secondary in football. Big shock.
Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

Interesting Rebuilding Strategy Eh
Bring in the cast offs from one of the worst defenses in the league…

The Lions could replace Manuel with you or I and there wouldn’t be any noticeable drop-off. That dude is little more than a pylon out there on the field.
Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

Maybe Detroit
should use this to help sell tickets. “Each game one lucky fan will be selected at random to come down, suit up, and play safety for your Lions!”

Avs vs Broncos
I’m a huge hockey and Avs fan. When Manuel was on the field last year, I was always equating it to the Broncos playing with a man in the penalty box. Watching the Broncos play D the last few seasons was like watching a 60 minute penalty kill. And when the other team scored, we didn’t get our guy out of the box.
Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

also a hockey fan-
but a west coast one, sj sharks, sorry.
yeah, that oh sh%$ feeling everytime the opposing offense had the ball, on the edge of your seat in a bad way, cringing aat every hand off- hey, cringing at every snap.
aint it great to watch a defense dictate play? get better as the game goes along?
2 games in, but those 2 games were far more promising than weve seen in a while.

Gerard Warren
He’s still upset that he’s a Raider and I don’t blame him.
Especially since the Torain pick didn’t pan out, that was one of the worst Broncos trades ever. But at least they got something for him, and didn’t just let him walk.
by Velveeta on Sep 24, 2009 9:25 AM MDT reply actions 0 recs
But it's worse than that
Warren wasn’t a player whose contract was about up. He just didn’t fit the system being brought in by Bates (whatever). So the great purging occured (including trading a 6th round pick for Jimmy Kennedy, then cutting him), which may have been okay if the defense had been build up and allowed to learn, but the new system was canned after a few games. All those moves were, essentially, pointless.
[shudder]

Don Banks ranking
Find it funny that the Patriots are real close to being 0-2 and yet are in Banks’ top 10, while Denver is 4 below them. Now, you could say Denver is real close to being 1-1 by same token, but still… Pats have yet to show me anything impressive other than their reputation. Don’t care that much that he has Denver 14 though. I realize they’ll need to prove themselves over a long haul.
But Patriot Love, there’s no cure for it!

Last year I probably was at 10 percent (body fat), this year I'm six
now that’s low. I’d be worried about it being a bit too low personally. 6% is the lowest bound recommended for professional athletes anything lower and you’re getting into body builder / danergous levels.

How come no one is talking about Eddie Royal being 'left out' of the offense then?
I keep seeing the MSM talking about how BMarsh has so much fewer catches, but Eddie Royal has had just as much of a ‘drop in production’ as BMarsh, and no one is saying that it is because he has a bad attitude or missed training camp?
It seems obvious to me that the veterans WR’s—especially the ones with experience in this kind of offense—are getting the ball more while everyone is learning how this offense works together in real NFL game situations. If he can keep focused—big IF!—I expect BMarsh AND ERoyal will be catching more balls and getting some TD’s this year.
by kaze9999 on Sep 24, 2009 12:49 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
Eddie looks average to me so far this year. like he is trying to hard...
Not very explosive in return game, and dropping some easy balls too.
Hope he can press less and get back to his old form.
No coincidence that BM and ER are down….they have been dropping the most balls!
Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????
