Going to Mecca!
I need some help! I'm going to be going to CO in a couple of weeks. My wife has authorized me to spend exactly 1/2 a day in Denver. Where do I go and what do I see, keeping in mind I'll have my wife, a 3 month old and a 2yr old with me? ;) Can you do a tour of the MHIF? Should I go to the practice facility? Is there anything to see there? Can anyone recommend any good Broncos shops? Thanks for the help.

Great that you get to go!
not sure what day of the week u get to go, but I’d suggest going to the stadium. They have the Broncos Team Store there, as well as a tour that takes u through the stadium and on the field (well on the side anyway ;) ). The tour takes about 75 minutes…
Here is more information on the tour:

Im not sure if there is anything to see at Dove Valley since it;s not training camp anymore, you cant get to the practice fields i think (if u were so lucky that they were on the field during ur time of the visit). There isnt much else to do at Dove Valley apart from another small team store, the one at the stadium is much nicer.
I took a tour of the stadium myself this summer and loved it, so it’s definately recommended.

Well with half a day here's what I would do
First off, it’s all in or around downtown so you won’t worry about schlepping all over Denver.
1. Start at the motherland, the best Broncos gear is at Invesco Field, by far. The staff is courteous and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be grinning ear to ear the whole time you’re in there.
2. If you (or your little ones) feel like it, take a stroll through the 16th St. Mall (located on….you guessed it! 16th St!) There’s tons of cool stuff there, and people are pretty friendly in general. Personal note: If you see a silver statue on the west side of 16th St., look a little closer, and take out a video camera.
3. For lunch, there’s few places I can think of that are better than Illegal Petes. First off, if you’re into the Chipotle/Qdoba type “Mexican” food, IP is the place for you. Their food is cheap, and has been voted a ton of times as the best burritos in Denver. Not only that, but the atmosphere is fun, and there’s absolutely no stress there. Location on 16th St. and Wazee (right next to Gumbo’s I believe)
4. While in downtown, on Colfax and Broadway and/or Lincoln, there’s the state capital (which is very cool to see). The park there is also great to relax too. Personal note: Stay as far away from Colfax with your family. It’s not exactly ideal for your little ones and their safety.
5. To round off your day, if you’re hungry by the time you leave, Brooklyn’s Sports Bar has good food and it’s in Invesco’s back yard. Nice views of the city, and a fairly chill atmosphere unless there’s a game.
Some off notes: I wouldn’t bother heading out to Dove Valley for 2 reasons:
1) It’s way out of the way from the downtown, Invesco area / freeways.
2) The only things worth seeing there are the Lombardi’s, which for some are worth it, but it’s not worth it to me to go through 30 minutes of traffic each way just to get there….

Oh I wish I had known that when I stayed for a few days in Denver this summer! I’ll have to go there when I go back in a few months :)

Oh yeah mate, Petes is THE BEST place to get burrito's in Denver.
Also, if you like sushi, check out Opal on 9th and Lincoln. It’s around 40 bucks for two, but my god their sushi is godly.

Lunch with kids
I have a 2 year old daughter and she loved eating at the Denver Aquarium. It’s close to downtown and Invesco. The entire restaurant is a giant aquarium and she ran around looking at fish, sharks, eels, etc. It was a good break for her from all the other stuff that we did. Dinner menu is kind of expensive depending on what you get, but lunch is reasonable.
The Children’s Museum is right next to the Aquarium as well. This is a great place for the kids to go and run around. It might be an option to have the wife and kids do that and you go to Invesco. Sometimes young kids can make the experience a little less enjoyable for the parents.
