Taking a bad song, and making it good....

What's up everyone. So here's the thing, I'm a musician by trade and hobby. I've had the good fortune of going on tour a couple times (with very small groups) and I've been blessed with music in my life. Anyways, I like to relate things around me to music, and I've done the same with the Broncos of 2009.

See, last year, our Broncos were a sad sad song. It started good but quickly went cold and sour like a piece of Warhead candy in January. Funny enough, last year, I actually didn't enjoy watching the Broncos. The week 1 beat down of the Raiders was the first and only time I felt good about the whole season. Every game after that was a question mark. I never once bought into Cutler's careless play or Shanahan's get rich quick schemes post-Super Bowl. For that, I wasn't enthusiastic about the team very often. I will always love the Broncos just like Whitney Houston sang it.

"And I will always love you!"

Anyways, you know the phrase "You can love someone without liking them"? Well that sums up my 2008 feelings about the Broncos. I never liked our suspect defense, and I definitely didn't like underplanning against weaker teams. I flat out hated the lack of adjustments being made at halftime as well. We could have won a few more games had we just adjusted a few things, but nothing ever seemed to work. This isn't about last year, it's about this year.

In 2009, we've seen the lowest of lows (offseason stuff) and the highest of highs (so far). On defense especially, Mike Nolan, Josh McDaniels, and the rest of the awesome coaching staff have taken a team that otherwise would have sounded like this:

And they've made THAT sorry piece of junk song sound a little more like this:

I mean, WOW. That's a big difference huh? Anyways, this year should be quite a bit better than last years, I fully expect Denver to play a tough hard nosed game against Dallas next week, and if they pull out a win, I'll be back with more cool crap in video form!
