The Cowboys score well; they run well, and they pass well. I'm not sure what happened to Felix Jones, thier true break-away threat, but Barber will be back on Sunday. They (Dallas) throw a lot to Witten and hit the edges with their running backs - both are defenisve weaknesses of ours.
For the last two weeks, I've openly and multiply penned my feelings of lopsided victories. I do not have that same arrogance this week against Dallas. We are going to play a battle-hardened opponent; a team that has out-rushed a Carolina Run-D, and out-scored a Giants Defense. Too much is taken from statistics early in the season. I will not use any here. I relish your opinions...
Dallas has been a seond-half team this year. I would say we have that same quality. Both teams will fight for each yard and for the last minute.
My football IQ isn't high enough to pretend to break down the X's and O's of this next game. I'm sure we will learn that from the MHR Staff. But this I do know: This game will be our measuring stick. Putting aside statistics and wins, we will be facing a very tough opponent that matches up very well against what we do not do so well.
In my opinon, my humble opinion, THIS will be the game that tests our resolve... our desire to win. I DO believe that our talent matches theirs. I DO believe that we are better coached and better schemed. I think both teams are hungry for respect. But, I DO give Denver's Defense the advantage there. They're more hungry to take that respect.
I've debated and even argued, over the last two games, that our team should have walk-away victories. And while it appears that I was correct, I take the opposition satnce here. THIS game will be won on big plays and in the trun-over battle.
Denver can't stay undefeatred forever; Kyle can't stay interception-free for the rest of his career. This game is played in Denver, and Kyle plays great at home. Yet, for the first time in his Bronco career, he's going to need to fling that pig-skin - we can't expect to hold the Cowboys to under eight like we did against our last three opponents. It's time for that offense to stop transitioning and show the full might and power of our talent. It's time to take the handcuffs off... for the first time this year... we need them.
Let me close by saying that I think this Bronco team will field a very well coached, well disciplined, and well prepared team. They are hungry for respect, and they have the talent to take it. Yet, the time is now. It's on Sunday. This is our measuring stick. This is our day of reckoning. I have no doubt that we will leave it on the field, everything we have. The Bronco-D will keep us close - they'll bleed and bruise their body's to keep it that way. But is our offense ready?
What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for you time.
P.S. I'm going to give slightly sporadic opinions on the poll; I value your opinions.
