Never mind.
I guess I missed it first time I looked. Sorry for the redundency.

I was in the process of adding it...
So it probably wasn’t up there yet. Thanks for the add, and any other additions are welcome!

“Cuts could signal break from past?”
Umm, didn’t we cut one or two guys before free agency? ; )

Thanks for the Turlock Journal
I may be alone, but I always find the hometown perspective on a player valuable.

And I take it
that the number of stories the Turlock Journal has run on Brandstarter shows that his hometown still has great interest in his career. That cannot be anything but a good sign.

am I crazy?
or did that dude from the brandstater article say that kurt warner and larry fitzgerald played 3 quarters in that game…warner threw 7 passes and went to the bench.

I had to read it twice
but I think it means Brandstater played three quarters, but it implies he played them against Fitzgerald and Warner the way it is written.

Don't be fooled
Its just Chunn Sun being overworked. He writes our WHOLE sports section. cover to cover. There are bound to be some mistakes.

Jordan won't be cut
…and either will Moss. Jordan because his job was never in jeopardy to begin with.. Moss because he’s a first round pick and you don’t cut those.. even to prove a point that you’re breaking from an old regime. Houston got a 5th for their bust 1st from a few years ago. You at least get that.
How old is Vonnie Holliday? 45? 50?

Jordan is on, and I think Walker is on, putting the team at 4 RBs. I’m not counting Hillis at RB, as he’s something…else. Probably the big reason this team can go with 3 TEs and 4 RBs. Gotta love versatility!
If Moss makes the team (and he’s definitely on the bubble, which is good!), I doubt it has anything to do with him being a 1st round pick. Unfortunately, now that the pick is made, it means nothing. Moss will make this team based on whether or not he showed enough on the field.
Holidays are ancient, man! We’re talking THOUSANDS of years old! Wait…wrong Holliday. Sorry. I think he’s playing for the Cardinals now.

Holliday
is 33.
He started for revitalized Dolphin D last year, so it’s not bad depth (assuming all players rotate).

Moss
Moss was a first round pick drafted several years ago who has shown limited ability. He was selected by a long-departed front office with an extensive track record of poor defensive personnel selection.
I don’t think his first round status protects Moss any longer, especially not with someone as “show me the goods” as Coach McD.

Jordan was a good addition as a player/position coach in camp...
But after watching him in the preseason, he seems to be a waste of a precious roster spot. It wasn’t just the lack of speed and burst, but the tentative approach at the point of contact that really turned me off.
Veteran depth from the waiver wire at DL (maybe Holliday?) or WR (who knows what Marshall will do/cause?) is a much better use on the roster than a slow RB that doesn’t want to get hit.

And that SI column was a nice find.
The road to receiver valhalla is littered with the bodies of men who were never able to live up to their potential. Brandon, and only Brandon, has the power to change the course he is on.

Scheffler
While Krieger is trying out for the ST&NO roster contest in his article, I noted that he asserted that McD had Scheffler “on the trading block while back.” I remember rumors to that effect but I never saw anything reliable. Anyone know if that was true? I think it was another Bus Cook (Scheffler’s agent) rumor. It’s annoying that Krieger talks as if it was a fact rather than reporting more like “it was rumored that Scheffler was on the trading block awhile back.”

That is all I ever saw..
Stories that were labled as rumors, or anonymous NFL sources and stuff like that. No credible evidence that was the case, ever.
