Delay of Game Penalty!

Holy Batman Robin! The delay in announcing cuts seems league-wide! John Bena "The Sportsguru"'s thread has over 1,300 comments now. Why is this happening?

Just some thoughts:

Are teams facing any real penalties if they don't? If not, why should they?
Why doesn't the NFL site keep a list of cuts as they receive them?
Does a delay in announcing a cut affect the 24-hour waiver period?
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE REASON FOR THE DELAY?

There are several...

Reeves used to never release his cute publically because on some of them, if another team tried to claim them, he would recind the cut and cut someone else.

He said he didn’t want players to think they were safe or cut and then have the informaiton change in an hour or two. Others think if they release their names early some other team may change its mind on who they cut and add.. or some such…

Shanny was pretty close to the vest with both cut and injury information as well.

I think it was because the MSM was pushing the NFL

to let them telecast it like Draft Day, but the NFL refused to foot the bill for getting all the guys in one place on short notice.

the releases all happened on time, they just were not publishing the information to anyone besides the NFL league office
