hmm Walker was allowed on PS? Apparently my reading comprehension is worse than I thought.

wonder what happened to lee robinson, dont have time to look it up right now though

nothing on him
Not seen any news on him, so he is likely on the street at the moment
thanks for the update, Guru

Good PS guys although bummed we did not keep Robinson!
Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????

Someone please explain to me how the PS works.
Specifically why are some people eligible and others aren’t?

Well...
It will be one of the guys who is not PS eligible, so I am thinking Gorin.
I think the Broncos will keep 7 WR’s.

I agree.
we have 7 good to great receivers right now with Marshall in the mix. If McKinley is our lowest ranked guy, I’m perfectly happy with that.

PS and Marshall cut
IMO Marshall will replace Brandon (in priority) Gorin or Chad Jackson or Jarvis Moss
It maybe Smith if the knee is bad and he goes to IR.
Practice Squad: a player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons, or if he has accrued a year of NFL experience (six or more games on a club’s 53-man active roster or official Injured Reserve list.)
here you go
The Broncos were also granted, by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, a one-day roster exemption before making a roster move. Marshall’s return gives the Broncos 54 players on their active roster.
Dawkins/Hillis Bad @ss' for life
a move wil come tomorrow
and possibly more if we see some good players we like.
i for one havent looked much around the cuts, but i saw Kory Sheets was cut, i think he has a future in this league and is better than LaMont(so is Darius)
Dawkins/Hillis Bad @ss' for life
I’m disappointed with a few of the PS signings.
Where is Lee Robinson? He almost looked good enough to make the regular team. He would have been the first guy I picked for our PS.
Darius Walker? I suppose we can plug him in if someone gets hurt, but there are so many better prospects out there than Walker.
Kelley, Erickson and Willis do NOT look like NFL players and I don’t think any of them ever will be. There are better options out there.
Love the Broncos, don't like their Coach.
He knows the system

Those guys had me scratching my head too! I’m sure that we’ll see the team tweaking the roster in the next week.
Totally agree with this
Thought I was the only one (but I never am on MHR…a good thing!). I was wondering why they kept having Willis returning kicks in the preseason games…he was terrible at it imo
The thing is...
I believe that after the roster has been set, we can add guys to IR and still bring them back this season. I would bet that LeKevin Smith is placed on injured status if it will be weeks before he is ready to be activated. That would save them from having to make a cut to account for Marshall.
Players are waived from the PS all the time. If someone is available that looks more attractive, I don’t think anyone will be hesitant to make that move. If robinsonwere claimed by another team, he would not have been available to add.

If you add to IR, they can’t play this season

This seems about what I'd expect and also remember
that this can change at any time, and probably will, even starting this week. Glad to see Carter, Branson and Pdx on it, at least.
I, too, would’ve liked to have seen Lee Robinson. Although are we sure he wasn’t claimed by another team? If someone’s claimed they can’t be on the PS.

Willis
Willis runs a 4.2 forty and is good returner.

4.2? I find that darn near impossible to believe. It definitely didn’t translate to the football field.
running a 4.2 doesn't mean you automaticall a good player

Who will be the 1st on an NFL roster and who will be the 1st released?
I could be totally wrong with these two picks, but I thought it was one way to make PS evaluations interesting.
I pick CB Carter to be the 1st on a NFL roster, CB depth is always needed and a 4th-5th CB doesn’t have to know very much about any particular defenses scheme to be effective in dime/nickle formations.
1st released, for no particular reason I pick Willis. His college stats don’t look very impressive for someone who hopes to play in the NFL.
I agree, Larsen shouldn’t get any bigger. I am getting tired of his bone crushing hits knocking the pixels off my TV, once they fall to the floor they are very hard to find.
how does the PUP list work?

pup and ir
i’m doing this from memory so it may not be 100%.
physically unable to perform (pup) is a designation a team can give a player BEFORE training camp. This is normally for players that pick up an injury in the off season and aren’t ready to go at the start of camp. Once on the pup they can move to the active roster but can’t return to the pup. Around week 6, i think, the team has to make a decision on all players on the pup – either put them on injured reserve or activate them.
If they go on injured reserve list (ir) then their season is over and they can’t play again. They can be released but the team would need to come to a financial settlement with the player.

Thanks again John
For keeping us updated an the happenings with the team.
I am ready get the season underway.
Lets go Broncos!!!!!
Lets not forget
That any team can claim any players on any teams PS.
"Sanity is the realization that everyone is insane to some degree." Me
Not exactly true
A player on Team A’s PS is essentially a free agent. He can be approached by Team B and offered a contract (which has to be for team B’s 53 man roster) but the player can turn down the offer is he wants. Team B cannot claim the player off a PS.
A man does what he has to do, and sometimes it’s not what I believe he should do. There’s no reason to use up energy hating him for it. Shoot him if you have to, but don’t hate him.
Louis L’Amour
True
Team A can offer a contract to a player on team B’s PS, thus putting him on their 53 man roster. They cannot “claim” a player and put him on their PS.

other, unrelated news
Lichtensteiger was claimed off waivers by the Vikings.
Crowder was claimed only to be relinquished by Tampa Bay — apparently they claimed too many!
Extra day for Marshall decision.

I really really hope they make a move for Woodhead or Ian Johnson.
One of those RB’s would take Walker for a ride. I love Walker but Woodhead has some serious speed with the ball.

Anyone else think Spann was worth PS?
I thought he looked good in the one exhibition he played. Anyone else?
College free agents
Interesting that all but two of the practice squad are college free agents…all I think from small schools. This may be a “diamond in the rough” mentality in terms of “coaching them up” or developing prospects. Which ones will end up lumps of coal and which diamonds?
