Great video. Thanks studbucket.

If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

LOL

I thought about what we should do, and once I saw my draft with just Floyd and the NFL Films music, I liked how it sounded a lot.

I could’ve done a bit better job with the stats/quotes at the end, so maybe I can do that for the future.

Maybe now

the younger fans will understand why its such an insult that Floyd Little is not in the HOF.

It really is great watching him

Making this video, I saw him over and over again, and I really do appreciate him now. He really is a triple threat.

This video brought a tear to my eye.

Wonderful job JT

Great job, kudos for finding all that footage

I think many of the old Broncos suffer because there definately is a lot of footage that no one has seen or knows about.

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem" - Duffman
"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun" - Ash from Army of Darkness
"H.I., you're young and you got your health, what you want with a job?" - Evelle from Raising Arizona
"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes." - Agent Rogersz from Repoman

Found Some Myself...

But most of the thanks goes to a couple of bigtime Floyd fans and longtime Broncos here on MHR. They’re the real heroes for having the Broncos yearbooks/highlights from ‘67-’72 :)

So awesome

That was so great, thanks studbucket! I already had a large amount of respect for Floyd, but this video increased that 1000%.

I didn’t realize he was so fast, wow. It is a travesty that he’s not yet included in the HOF, a sham of sham of a travesty.

Personally, when I think HOF I think the BEST of the best. A player that has the ability and skill to seem a Man amongst boys. Floyd Little clearly had that in abundance, as this video illustrates wonderfully.

Excellent, excellent work!

I never got to see him play

But from making these videos, it sure feels like I did. I really appreciate him now and feel like you do.

Such great balance...

He always seems capable of a juke to the left or a cut to the right at any time….

Studbucket, brought me to tears it is so wonderful. Pure Poetry. Pure.

I am now going for a throwback Little jersey.

What struck me about this video is the following:

1) How smooth and fluid of a runner Floyd Little really was.
2) How smart and patient he was his blocking scheme and blockers
3) How efficient he was while running. Today’s runners seem to waste a lot of energy. Floyd rarely did.
4) How little space he needed to get to full speed.

This is amazing. Just amazing!!

Excellent Description

All of those things really fit. Just such a great runner.

and how many tackles he broke.

And I mean full on, wrapped-around-the-hips type tackles. This man must have been a monster for LBs to reckon with.

"All we're trying to do is win the *********** game!" -- Josh MF McDaniels tearing into his offensive line after three false starts in the red zone. The tirade turned the tide of the game, and the Broncos dominated from that point on.

Well Montana took the words out of my mouth

I don’t think I saw a play where it took less than 3 guys to bring Floyd down…and he’s only MY SiZE? I’m 5’10" and 190….Floyd looks 7 feet tall in these videos.

SB I am a 25 yr old fan…young by most standards. and this video even brought a tear to my eye.

The Elway quote is certainly one of the most potent to me as a younger fan…but this video itself…..just WOW

Strangely

He reminded me of Barry Sanders, minus the dancing plus a little power. Great balance and quickness, not great top end speed, but good enough, and very strong legs.

3 Backs from Syracuse

Can anyone name the three backs from Syracuse that made it to the NFL? NO?

Ok hint, hint:

Jim Brown, All American in both football and Lacrosse.

Ernie Davis, All American and Heisman Trophy (Signed by the Browns and unfortunatly passed away before the first game.

Floyd Little, 3 Time All American football.

For you younger people on MHR when Floyd was signed in 1967 he was designated as “The Franchise” for the Denver Team. What you see on the video, Studbucket deserves all the credit. So why does Denver still have the Broncos and the reason us old folks started the string of sell outs at the Old Mile High?

It began with #44.

Enough said, he is Hall of Fame.

I love the video and it’s a great tribute to a great RB who was ahead of his time. He was Denver’s offense in the late 1960’s.

Sounds like he’s glad I made it, hopefully it can help sway some people:

thanks. He may be dicey. Some folks don’t like his stats. would be a shame if he misses after getting this far. I can use video

Goose bumps!!!!

Wow, SB — fantastic editing job, man! So fluid and graceful, whether in dense traffic or wide in the open. I lost count of how many times the pass rush was about to nail No. 13 when he flicked it out for a screen that went 80 yds.

Only constructive suggestion is to break the text at 19:10 into a few different ones, if possible. I had to back it up and pause it to absorb it fully.

Phenominal work, amigo! And legendary work, Mr. Floyd!!!! Truly, the greatest Bronco of all time!

"All we're trying to do is win the *********** game!" -- Josh MF McDaniels tearing into his offensive line after three false starts in the red zone. The tirade turned the tide of the game, and the Broncos dominated from that point on.

Thanks!

I don’t deserve too much credit for the editing, that’s all NFL films! The only times I did editing was when you saw 2 clips crossfade into each other (about 20 times) or which NFL films songs to include.

I definitely screwed up some of the text sections and shouldn’t have included some of the text fade effects, it would have given more time to read them. However, I don’t have a real powerful rig anymore (6 years old now, used to be great), so it took over 1 hour to make the vid and I wanted to get it up as fast as possible.

Thanks for the feedback though, I’m glad everyone is really enjoying this. The NFL films music just fit so well with Floyd & his running style, it worked well.

I can't help but be proud of your work studbucket

I really think it reflects well on all broncos fans, and especially those here at MHR. Kudos to you and the rest of the group for the way you are handling this, and adapting to the situation as it develops. Maintaining a disciplined level of activism tempered with restraint can’t be easy, and I don’t envy you guys those moments where you can’t be sure if it will be enough. Thanks for all your work.

#44 was the Man in Denver

Thanks SB- brings back great memories. The film makes him look as if he was all of our offense- and in those days he was. He was the Denver Broncos. I was just a kid then and often we had to listen to some of the games on the radio.I can remember some of those memorable runs being broadcast by Bob Martin- then the voice of the Bronco- and now I can see some of those runs for the first time. He should have been in the HOF years ago- because of his abilities and because he kept a struggling franchise in Denver and on the map. Floyd Little has always been my favorite Bronco. Thanks again- and I love the old school NFL Films music. Great Job!!!

That's great Studbucket.

As everyone said, as you’re watching it you’re amazed at his vision and patience and strength. Man amongst boys territory. And you did an outstanding job of editing and giving it just the right music.

Out of interest, how does the official sell job work? Is it up to the individual voters to debate with just memories and stats? Do the voters “take up the cause”? Or is there an official representative of Little who’s responsible for this kind of stuff? Obviously you’re doing a great job but is it normal for the Broncos, for example, to pull old footage on Little’s behalf? Do the NFL do it? I’m just curious about how much video these guys will see in addition to this great piece?

Official Selling of Floyd

Not every player has a designated advocate, although the voter from a player’s city (in our case, Jeff Legwold) is supposed to be his advocate. I think Jeff has taken up the case for Floyd and apparently has a whole DVD worth of Floyd, so that’s good. I have no clue if or how that footage gets shared with other voters. I’ve learned a lot about the process, but there’s still a lot they won’t tell me because it’s all supposed to be private.

If some voters are passionate, they will take up the cause, but mostly it’s just a room of guys debating and giving sales pitches on a player and then some debating and voting, from what I understand. It helps Floyd that he’s a Seniors Candidate, but getting 4/5 voters to say yes scares me a lot.

I just hope that Legwold and the Seniors committee guys like Dave Goldberg can help convince voters like Peter King that Floyd deserves to get in. LeBeau was awesome as a player, but his case is really helped by his media darling status from his years as an assistant coach. I don’t think Floyd’s car dealerships are gonna help him out.

Job well done.

Nice work buddy! That was a fun watch.

Go Floyd go!

My only (very minor complaint)

is you don’t include my most vivid memory of Floyd Little. His 85 yard screeen play touchdown against the Eagles in his final home game in 1974 (?).

by margabelle on Jan 11, 2010 10:16 PM MST reply actions

Unfortunately

I didn’t get any video from 1974 or ‘75, and I only had 1 game from ’73 :( I had the team highlights from ’67-’72, so I was able to get a ton from those.

I may be getting the yearbooks for ’73 or ’74 in the future, so if I ever got really motivated, I could make another video :)

Is it just me...

Or does football not look/feel/seem the same anymore? I remember the 90’s even.. the game of football was so much more fun to watch. I have the Broncos season highlights from 97/98 when they won back to back titles and it just seems like the game ran so much more fluid and players seemed to play a lot harder.. I don’t really know what it is but watching the NFL now just doesn’t seem the same.

by comagnum on Jan 12, 2010 5:21 AM MST reply actions

Great work definitely a HOF'er

Thanks for reminding me how great Floyd was. I remember his first game at DU preseason against da Lions… One of the best ever RB’s for Denver!
