With the Ravens now out..
and Derrick Mason talking retiring, it sure sets up the possibility of a trade with the Broncos for Brandon Marshall. The Raven have the 21st pick and may give it and the 85th to Denver for Marshall.
Here is the question, do the Raven wait to see what the March 1 date brings in the CBA story or do they decide to pay Marshall and make the deal? If they make the deal and there is a new CBA then they are ahead because they have their #1 WR, and for less money than bidding for him.

I honestly think Pat Bowlen won't let his two superstars leave back to back years but thats just me
Mile High Salute
Yup. Ryan Clady isn't going anywhere.

Exactly!

Based on how he played in 2009, I think you overrate Clady. He regressed in year 2.
I'm so angry at the Broncos right now.
I dunno bout that
he went from having one guy to take care of when the ball was snapped to having to cover not only his man but Ben Hamilton/ Russ Hochstien’s man as well! In that case i would say he proved he was still a beast. To be fair when you have guys in the line you aren’t comfortable with you tend to try to “cover” for them.

exactly what I thought Kuper suffered from too...
Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.
Socrates was once executed for 'trolling'.
^Needs explaining: don't call someone asking uncomfortable, slightly antagonistic questions trolls. In all odds they probably just want to learn. It's real easy to differentiate a 'Socratic' post from a trolling one (unless you're a resident of WCG).
^Needs further explaining: I have yet to post anything on WCG, don't worry, I'm not trying to rationalize anything I've done. I've just lurked over there and man, they are the model of post-peloponnesian war Athens.
You made the point after the Bengals game that Cutler’s mobility and refusal to throw the ball away made the offensive line look better than it was, stats-wise. It’s a good point. I don’t think Clady is as good as he looked in 2008. But a player can regress from a lofty standard and still be the best around.
Instead of .5 sacks, he allowed, what 5 (the stats are subjective). They got 5 yards a pop running behind him this year. James Harrison disappeared. Dwight Freeney disappeared. That guy with the mohawk disappeared. I still think he was the best play on the team, although I’ll admit that my evaluation is conditions by the part where I think possession receivers are far more easily replaced than left tackles like Clady.

@mcgeorge..why oh why oh why do you digress?
yep Ryan Clady regressed. Pro Bowl (unanimous), All Pro (LT by a bunch).
Yes, he regressed to a pro bowl level
It’s a framing trick. It implies that anything more than giving half a sack is poor.
I accept that he experienced a sophomore slump, but it would be foolish to ignore the scheme change and injuries as contributing factors.
There’s an ample dollop of dis-ingenuousness that goes into attacks on Clady. We can ‘see’ what the problems are on the OL. And the warning bells were sounded well before the end of the season — I was writing about the OL problems starting in the middle of the season, back when it was hardly the fashionable thing to do. Moreover, many of us saw the problem coming. I was advocating for high interior-OL picks starting two years ago. The whole point of multi-year planning is to anticipate and address situations before they become problems.
no goats, no glory.
I know the jets are still in it....
but I could see them wanting a shot at Brandon as well.
Now where did that Kool-Aid vendor go?
I just wish...
we could find a way to keep him. Keep him AND draft Dez Bryant and then look out. With Royal as our #3 or slot…can you say unstoppable?
I think they may wait
They may be able to get someone like TO for a season
