Question:
I am not a big believer in so called consiracy theories as a general rule but why is Shannon having to lobby for support but guys like Gates and T. Gonzales are considered easy “first bollot” guys?

Tony G is the best TE to play the game
By Sharpe’s admission. Can’t speak about Gates.
Sharpe shouldn’t have to lobby for support, either.

Yeah...
and Champ Bailey is a great cornerback, maybe the best ever but that should not take away from Emmitt Thomas’ accomplishments. TG is and will be an easy HOFer but Shannon’s election should be just ad easy. TG has most TE receiving records but they that had them prior was Shannon. And he was the first ever to 10,000 yards. I am not in any way debating “who was better” because it’s too subjective of an arguement. I just cannot fathom how Sharpe is not a no brainer of a selection. TG should be as well but Shannon deserves it just as much.

Sorry. iPhone and fat thumbs makes the above incoherent.
ps, who from the Denver area has a HOF vote? I want to call my “local representative!”

It is the people who have a vote that are the problem.

If the Media Remembered
he was a Raven a.k.a. East Coaster, then he would be a shoo-in. It’s because he won with and played for the Broncos that he’s considered questionable.

My standard HoF rant
Little should be in. Gradishar should be in. At least 3 or 4 other guys from the Gradishar era defense should have at least been given serious consideration. Mecklenberg should have at least received serious consideration. How on earth is it that one of the top 5 successful franchises over the past 35 years in terms of wins, playoff wins, and super bowl appearances, only has 2 players in the HoF?? It just doesn’t pass any sniff test. Sorry, but that is the bottom line here. Man it pisses me off every time I think about it.
And with the 32nd pick in the 2009 NHL draft, the Red Wings select: Someone other than Ryan O'Reilly. LOL@Detoilet.
You are either a HOFer or you're NOT!
No need to wait a few years to get in. Shannon’s numbers aren’t going to change. It is like this in other sports as well. The voting process is lame. Sharpe and Chris Carter should have been voted in last year. This year Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith are up so that might change things a bit.
