If that's where Josh feels like we need to go in order for us to take the next step, to be on the same page, then that's what I am willing to do. I told him and I'll tell you guys; I'm behind him so if he made that decision there's a reason why he made it. I trust him and I'm going to go out, and whoever he brings in as Defensive Coordinator, he's going to have Brian Dawkins on his side.

What a guy to have on your team...
When people whine and complain about coach McD then in a way they are saying that Brian Dawkins is an idiot.
More ammunition
for the next whiner that tells me that JMCD is destroying this team.
My name is synonym for win.
I agree........it is amazing to me
there are so many vocal fans, that are not anywhere near the locker room, or the practice fields or in the meeting rooms.
Even so, they know that McDaniels has split the locker room, is a control freak, is too inexperienced to be a good head coach, doesn’t know how to draft, yada, yada, yada.
Then the Champ Bailey’s, Brian Dawkins’ and other current and former players make a public statements endorsing Josh and we can see the pundits and bloggers do more speculating based on their own viewpoints and opinions than getting substance and fact. It is our right in America to think whatever we want. Still every opinion should have some actual facts to be based on. Just my opinion.
I would hope you would support who we are. Not, who we are not. Coach Norman Dale "Hoosiers"
I love Brian Dawkins... Dog Gone it!
"So tell me what happened."
"Well, the last thing I remember is seeing this flash of Blue and Orange and the #22... then everything just went black..."
I kind of wish a little Brian Dawkins would rub off on the fan base...

Ain't that the truth.
I wonder if they’ll even publish a McDaniels supporting comment like this over at the Post.
They do have a story over there with some good quotes from Bailey, Dawkins, and Dumerville.

It has the standard McDaniels bashing comments, except one:

This article shows how mature people like Bailey and Dawkins are when compared to Marshall or Cutler.
It’s sad to think that BDawk and Champ (and Rod Smith) couldn’t get through to BM. Unfortunately, it looks like he’s not smart enough to listen to the advice of 2 (3) future hof’ers.

Agreed.
He’s a great player and a great man. Certainly, he is someone that anyone should look up to.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Need More Dawkins Influence On This Team
It really is frustrating to read all of the negative and spiteful rantings of spoiled Broncos fans that rant and rave after a rookie coach has had one season of 8-8 football. One season, folks. The amount of disrespect for the team and especially Kyle Orton is rather frustrating and distasteful especially when so-called fans actually get some sort of glee when the team loses.
They remind me of KC Chiefs fans that give up on the team, players, and coaches when things get a little difficult.
I hope these fans that threaten to go and follow Mike Shanahan or Gary Kubiak as long as Bowlen keep McIdiot (or whatever cute little name they like to use) around do stay true to their word and find another team.
Good for you, Brian Dawkins.

good to hear and what we'd expect from a veteran leader
Can’t help but wonder if Dawkins ever lets a “when I was your age” slip when talking to McD, that would be hilarious.
hahaha

Dawk Is The Voice of Reason
Regardless of what kind of turkey trash the MSM tries to stir up at Dove Valley, as long as stalwarts like Dawk remain, there is nothing to worry about. We are going to resume our winning ways all season in 2010. Orton will be better in Year 2 and even if he doesn’t like financial stipulations placed upon him, he’ll still perform at a high level. This is a team rife with integrity and while the Chargers continue to disappoint the Broncos will only impress us, I do honestly believe

I'm glad to hear that.
Lots of people just want to spin a situation so that they’ll sound right all the time.
For others, like Dawkins, it’s simple. As a fan or as a player regardless of your individual opinion you’re either on board or you’re not.
It’ll work out in the end or it won’t but you’re either with it or you’re not.
Don't argue with fools. It's how they reproduce.
Isn't that interesting?
Look at it this way: Would anyone not argue that Dawkins is extremely knowledgeable about the game? About coaching? About the current inside the locker room issues of the team? He’s also a very bright individual, and if it were the circumstance that McDaniels has earned some ire, all Dawkins would have to do is to be slightly less vehement in his support. But that’s not the case.
Perhaps some of the armchair experts who blithely express their distaste (and eve hatred) for the coach, even going so far as to argue that this makes them an important voice of reason, might think seriously for just a moment about whether they or Dawkins knows more about the situations and the man in charge of them.

No they won't.
According to them, McDaniels can’t get along with any of the players and coaches, so they’re are all trampling each other to get out, and if they’re not, they’re yes men. There’s no reasoning with them.
I agree
they have made up there minds and nothing will change it. They are the type who intentionally ignore the truth or the comments of those who actually know what is going on. Brian Dawkins certainly knows more about what goes on with the Broncos than Papasteven does.

I just keep remembering the NFLN footage of Dawkins and McD on the sideline after one of our wins
Dawkins was calling his HC (3 years younger than himself) “Sir” over and over again. If McD has earned Dawkins’ respect, he deserves far more respect from the general fan base than he’s got right now.

I mean it might be too long or it might be that you just don’t know how to follow links… who knows?
Regardless… another quote from the interview that stood out that I think deserves some attention is the following:
You see? The thing that I have to do is, I have to make sure that the boss, the owner, or whoever it is knows that they’re going to have Brian Dawkins on their side and I may not agree with him, but if I disagree with him it’s going to be behind closed doors if we’re going to talk about that – not in public. I’ll never do that to him.

You tell them Dawkins
Doesn’t the MSM know you can’t trip up Dawkins on any question. That is who I am glad to have on my team. He backs the coach and that is the end of that.

Right on Dawk! I am so sick of Bronco fans bashing or hating Josh Mac. This guy is the real deal and needs time to build what he wants here. If Dawkins, Bailey are ok, I believe in Coach Mac as they do. These two have been around and seen the best and worst of Pro sports. Coach has been unfairly portrayed as a Bellicheck clone and an egomaniac because of it. This guy is tough, a taskmaster, ultra high expectations from himself and his staff and players. Admit it Shanahan was going soft at the end and the team reflected it. It messed up the team all the way around and Mcdaniels is having to clean this up. It was a mess before he got here but no one saw through the blinding light of back to back Super Bowls. We can see the truth if we calm the emotions down and examine the facts. The first thing he had to do was build leadership here. This team was devoid of leadership. Orton and Dawkins coming here changed all that as these two are consumate leaders. And yes I said Orton. Orton had a an excellent season for his first year under this complicated system. He will be a top five caliber QB next season. Josh will unleash the offense this year but it will be better in 2011(god forbid possible labor strife!). From what I have heard the players love the new D.C. So lets have an offseason of goodwill and faith in a rebuilding franchise that has the most loyal fans.
