About the will you watch the Probowl tonight poll.
Should have been an option “Won’t watch it all the way through, but will likely check in on it once in a while”. That would have been my vote.

Andre Johnson says
One thing we all realize as players is you could be here one day and gone tomorrow. Sometimes when it happens, especially to a player like Brandon, it surprises you a little bit. But at the same time we still understand the business side of this game.
It’s not business. It’s the fact that Marshall cannot behave himself like a grown adult. If he would do that, the “business” would take care of itself.

what if he was really hurt? Our training staff was wrong about the last injury!
If his injury was legitimate then after the poor start last season, then he dramatically turned it around and gave us amazing numbers.
This looks to me like another loss that could have been avoided if only it were handled better by the team.

That may be a fair question.
But to me, Brandon has put the team in the position of assuming otherwise, given his history….

And why was it too cold to practice (before the supposed hammy injury)?

I'll probably watch the pro bowl as withdrawal from football starts to set in.
It’s always painful. At least the Indy 500 can help me stave off the honeydos for a little longer.
Thanks Doug
for all the tireless work you do every day!
I'm glad we had this talk.

Re that PFW mock draft
if Eric Berry is left by the #10 pick I’ll eat my hat. I don’t think he’ll last 5 or 6 picks. That’d be awesome, don’t get me wrong, but the guy’s too amazing to not go in the top 5.
The depth at DT in the draft does bode well for Denver though. Good timing.

Here's an alternative take on Berry:
Berry is an interesting prospect. He was an elite high school cornerback who was switched to safety at Tennessee. From evaluating his play, we think it’s clear he is best suited to make the switch back to cornerback to become the top-level player he has the athleticism to be. We were shocked when evaluating Berry at how few plays he was involved in from a safety alignment, but he was clearly more productive when he came closer to the line of scrimmage and covered the slot receiver in man-to-man coverage. Overall, Berry is going to be drafted in the first round because he has rare athleticism, but we are confident he will struggle at safety and not be highly productive there. However, he has everything it takes to be an elite cornerback once he learns the nuances and improves his footwork and technique.
That comes from The War Room (Sporting News), and they only rate him as only the 21st prospect over all. I’m not suggesting they are right by any means, but that makes two pretty credible sources that aren’t as ga-ga over Berry as the reigning conventional wisdom. It’ll be interesting to see if he still shakes out as a Top 5 selection as the evaluation process grinds on.

That's interesting
Thanks. I disagree with the War Room’s ranking in this case BUT it does show that with some mixed feedback it is more possible than I thought that he could slide. Still, from everything I’ve seen of him myself and most of what Ive read, he’s pretty hard to pass up. I guess it depends on what individual teams believe as well as what they need most. I really do think that, as most pundits seem to be saying, the Bucs are most likely to nab him with their 1st pick, also given their connection to his college staff + their needs + Morris’ DB background sees Berry to Bucs makes most sense. BUT, again, who knows?
And the Broncos need more front 7 help than DBs so they, too, might look elsewhere.
Still, I like him.

I'll be watching
and hoping that Brandon has an absolutely amazing quarter, or whatever he plays. Isn’t BB coaching AFC? I hope Marshall’s all smiles over there and maybe impresses some people on and off the field. People talk and it surely wouldn’t hurt his value should we end up trading him as most of us assume.
Oh and listening. You couldn’t pay me to not watch B-Dawk mic’d up on the national stage. I don’t think he’s the kind of guy that can follow the unwritten rule of playing a little cushy in the all star game. Cushy sucks. No blitzing sucks. No Manning or Fitz sucks. But it’s still NFL football in an otherwise NFL free week.
Good luck with the Redskins Mr. Mike! I'll be watching and cheering for a non-Bronco team for the first time in my life. Well, except when they play the Broncos!
Only reason I'll be watching (part of) Pro Bowl is because there isnt much else decent on TV haha

DPP – A Bronco’s last hurrah? – Mike Klis
“I’ll put it like this: The way things have gone, I’d be surprised if he’s back,” Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey said. “I’ve seen it happen to the best of the best and the worst of the worst.”
Can someone with DPP help me out on this one? Whose last hurrah is it? Bailey? Marshall? Weigmann? Dawkins??

Klis starts a 'Marshall for Quinn' trade rumor in that one...
I guess insider’s already picked it up and is running with it. Please excuse me while I go vomit. !@#$ing ’tards.

^Needs explaining: don't call someone asking uncomfortable, slightly antagonistic questions trolls. In all odds they probably just want to learn. It's real easy to differentiate a 'Socratic' post from a trolling one (unless you're a resident of WCG).
^Needs further explaining: I have yet to post anything on WCG, don't worry, I'm not trying to rationalize anything I've done. I've just lurked over there and man, they are the model of post-peloponnesian war Athens.
Thanks, Doug.
I read the DP once a month (my judgment occasionally slips), and every single time I regret it.
