To the Pain...
Hi, many of you know me, as I have commented
on this site, for well over a year, although I have been
here a bit longer.
My first Post. To the Pain
appreciate, any and all comments.
Forgive the delivery of this post, as an Old Timer that may just go on and on. ( Run on sentences ) Though English, is my only language, the writing part never appealed to me in younger days.
So, to the Pain, what does that mean? Well I’ll relate my part, and see if it fits for you.
I don’t know quite how it happens, it just does. Maybe it’s the colors, maybe a Coach or a Player. Your watching a game, somehow you feel a connection. It might happen right away, it may sneak up on you later. Somehow, or another, Bam, It’s a heart connection,
Once it attaches, well their ya go. Now some of us try and disengage this connection, because, well it can get quite intense. Your team wins, Wow, does that feel good. Of course, if Your team looses, well I know, we have all felt that one too.
It doesn’t matter our station in life either. Accountant, Lawyer, Baker,
or candle stick maker. Once the connection is made, hold on, its quite an emotional
Roller Coaster.
Now, as of late, or maybe I’m just more sensitive. The Boo Birds, Nelly Negatives,
Basically the glass is half empty crowd ( you know who you are ) are having their
way. For the most part, I feel sorry for them. You see negativity ( for what ever reason )
is a way of life for them. The only way they feel any relief, is to share it with others.
You’ve heard, I know, they know not what they do, truth is truth. Even a broken watch
Is right, a couple of times a day.
See, To the Pain, does not discriminate. The wound, cut, or bleeding artery, hurts us
all. So all the nicety, its just a Game, its just Entertainment, doesn’t really help. Only
Time will heal the sore, from which we all bleed, that binds us all together.
So, some advice, if you well:
(1) It does no good to attack others.
(2) Denial only makes it worse
(3) Even if you can’t see a brighter day…It does eventually come
(4) The saying, Time heals all wounds, is True
In the mean time, air out the wound, but avoid nay-Sayers, it will only make you feel bad. Remember, they are hurting too. Try to give comfort, when ever possible, it
Helps the community. Support the Team, not only are they hurting too, In Truth
They, are your Connection. Believe it or not, The Team truly appreciates us as
Fans. For one cannot exist without the other.
As in everything in this world:
To the Pain, does have its opposite you know. Although, we have not experienced
it for awhile. Trust, for the very thought of it will sustain until it does.
Believe me, it well be worth the wait.
Its Called
WE, ARE CHAMPIONS.
Go Broncos.

Nice post UB3
I usually stay away from making comments for a while at season’s end and wait for free agency and the draft to start commenting and finally posting again but your post was so heart-felt that I felt the need to take the time to compliment you and show you what a true run-on sentence looks like….lol
Good first post and good advice.

To the pain...
Love the title… Was it homage to the Princess Bride by chance?
"The first step to penetration... must not be lateral"
-Confucius, in contrary to Glenn Dorsey lining up in the 2-tech
Yes and no.
Truely, I am an old softy, and I have seen that particular movie only…say 150 times.
Also, it is fitting to Our (yours too ) situation…yes
Something else, it wasn’t until after I posted, but I remembered one of the staff used that line.

UB3 this is a very good post and well served..
I haven’t been as calm after a collapse of our team in a very long time. That’s because unlike last year at this time we have a direction that we are heading in. Though there is still confusion of where that direction will take us, I believe we are finally headed the right way. I get upset and write things hastily sometimes when I should just set back and watch. That has never been my nature and has gotten me in trouble more than once. But, I hate it that when the team doesn’t go 16-0 the idiots come out of the closet and start calling our team and players names. Sorry, I’m not as forgiving as some, I live by a standard that says, treat everybody the way you would want them to treat you. It’s not hard to do. There are certain bloggers on here that live to put down our beloved team, because they know they are getting our goat when we respond to them. Call it jealousy or just plain bullying, but it isn’t right. They spew the same message over and over hoping to get the response that sets off an arguement…bitchers as my Mom always called them. Never satisfied, never filled, always empty…

Character may be manifested in the great moments but it is made in the small ones -- Philip Brooks
Thanks bfree,
You know its funny, the very words that were used on us by our elders,
when we were growing up. Somehow find their way thru our lips to
our peers.
Wisdom, my friend, is not only knowing what to say…but when.
