Yep
Woody has mailed it in for more than a decade. Hearing him call anyone out for anything is hilarious. There are probably posters on this site who went to more training camp practices, and certainly more who engaged in actual research.

Woody's
Writing style.
Especially his over-reliance on quirky phrases and short puns.
Became irritating awhile ago.

Football Outsiders has the Broncos’ special teams ranked as the 18th best in the league. Replace Berger with a league-average punter, and they’re considerably higher. Last year, the Broncos were 31st. Those of you on the fire-Priefer bandwagon (maybe it’s just one of you) had better brace for disappointment.
I was on the fire Preifer bandwagon
I haven’t really thought about it. There were positives this year. But we also added some talented special teamers to the mix. Our returns were still poor on average and our punting was a mess. FG’s were up and the coverage turned out to be ok. Question now is was it coaching or superior talent over last year’s ST squads?
Thanks Doug.

Good Morning Doug,
Wow, I’m kind of suprised DB allowed Coopers rant on their site for his blog. Not that I disagree with it, but these are usually extremely “vanilla” posts.
I played hurt, shot up whatever was needed to win. Call me stupid, maybe,
Kudos to him for calling out Paige for the tool he truly is, gotta love it. =)
Sports writers use it because they either haven’t ever played or never played at a high enough level to know there is no such word or action when you reach the NFL.
Denver rookie head coach Josh McDaniels doesn't have a grasp on how to build a team." - John Clayton, April 23rd, 2009
Agreed
Although I winced when I saw that second part you quoted. Statements like that are just ridiculous. So, only former players and coaches are allowed to share opinions?

I think he has a little anger built up
Coop is usually pretty level headed so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt that he’s just tired of articles with little substance aimed to stir emotion with fans.

Why do the Broncos still have to pay Shanahan anything?
I suppose it’s part of his contract but I don’t get it.

I've heard no concrete details yet
But my guess is that the way Shanahan’s contract is structured, he’s only getting paid 3.5M the first two years. Bowlen’s contract with Shanny makes Bowlen pay the difference between 7M and whatever he gets paid.

If Shanahan and Snyder
tried something funny like that, I bet it ends up in Court.

It isn't funny...actually typical
Much like the players, the coaches contracts are typically back-heavy. It’s like the dangling carrot….do your job well and you get the big bucks.

Speaking of which, this made me laugh for some reason
From Adam Schefter via Twitter:
Bears contact USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates about becoming their offensive coordinator. Bates worked in Denver with Jay Cutler.
Bears also could reach out to Univ. of Minn. OC Jedd Fisch, who also worked with Cutler in Denver. Bates and Fisch would make Cutler happy.

I guess the fact that
Bates kind of sucked in Denver and kind of sucked at USC (just ask some of my friends who are USC fans) shouldn’t deter them!
Cutler’s starting to remind me of Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. “Daddy I want him!”

Thanks for the news
Around now I even have time to read most of them… Appriciate the effort.
Special Teams
They started out improved from the past, seemed to stall and crash, then steadily improved towards the end. Don’t know where to lay the blame or credit, and obviously we’ll see if Prieffer survives the review. Buffalo – despite being pretty lousy for a long time – seemed to have consistently above-average special teams, so it would be tempting to interview April. And in that vein, if we don’t hit on a punter, mark the calendar for the 2011 draft, or whenever Kevin Butler’s kid comes out of Georgia. If he translates well to the NFL (as his dad did), someone will have a “franchise punter”. After this year, it would be great if that someone were us. (That, or score every possession instead.)
Anybody hear Champs comments on Marshall?
Just what we need, a soon to retire star taking locker-room business to the press just like the coach did!! And driving more talent out of town!! Freaking brilliant.
I love Champ but after the performance our defense posted when it mattered…. I’d be dead silent.s. #$%$#
