As the title states this is somewhat controversial but I wonder if we should use our 10th (or 11th) pick on a QB. I know thats not McD's style, and no disrespect to Orton but why I think we might need to follows the break.
The only reason we have the 10th or 11th pick is because of the Chicago trade, our record would have prevented the Broncos pick from being very high if we had kept it. That being said, I believe this team is improving, and I don't see us picking in the top 10 again in a very long time, therefore if the Broncos want a high round QB in the next 5 years, this is the only year we can get it. Even if we go 8-8 the next 5 seasons (god forbid) that still will have us picking outside the top 10 unless we trade up, which is always costly.
No Disrespect to Orton, I honestly think he is a good fit with the team, and may be the long term answer. But what if he isn't, when will we have the chance to pick this high again?
Just a thought...
