Arizona Cardinals at San Diego Chargers (Sunday, 4:15 p.m. ET, FOX) At least Derek Anderson threw Larry Fitzgerald a touchdown pass last week, but he really needs to get the ball into Fitz's hands more than twice if the birds plan on keeping pace with the Bolts in this one. The Chargers, meanwhile, continue to prove to be the type of team who can literally beat anyone or lose to anyone on a given week. A big home win seems far more likely than another loss this week.

Which comes first, a Broncos identity or a name for a Broncos identity? I’m not too crazy about the recent name “Four Horsemen” for the Broncos four record breaking wide receivers, but maybe a nickname would help develop a swagger for the team. MHR should start a contest to name various aspects of the team (wrs, offense, defense at least). Its been a while since the Three Amigos and Orange Crush. And I know there’s a lot of creativity out there waiting to find a canvas to put it on.

what do you not like about 4 horsemen...
that sounds hard to beat
Yes there's mysteries in the basement
But there's comic books upstairs
Exactly
1. Not original
2. the 4 horsemen of ND were linemen
3. the broncos have at least 6 legitimate threats at wr, add in Decker and Willis
The Broncos passing offense is gonna be awesome. They need an original identity.

How about the 4 stallions or just The Stallions
Fits with the Broncos name. Has an “Italian Stallion” kind of feel.
Victor Frankl:
What man actually needs is not a tensionless state but rather the striving and struggling for some goal worthy of him. What he needs is not the discharge of tension at any cost, but the call of a potential meaning waiting to be fulfilled by him.
Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
The Broncos identity needs to win and win now...naming this group if they struggle throughout the season won't give them anything to hoot about...
Win and win big and the nicknames will follow…
maybe im hazy on the concept
but im not too worriesd about the blitz pickup by our backs. both maroney and buck have shown to be very adequate pass blocking guys, and orton is pretty good at picking up the blitz and getting rid of the ball.
maybe an opportunity to punish the aggressiveness of that blitz and succeed in the ground game a bit this week?

Hope You're Right
I agree for the most part, but if the game’s close in the 4th quarter – I’ll be very worried about the blitz

Go Broncos!
Bill Simmons picked Denver to cover the 6.5 spread. It’s not a full vote of confidence, but it’s something positive. With our current passing game, we’d have a shot in any close contest. Just need Orton to produce in the red zone (my 1st choice). Or let Tebow play inside the 5 (a good 2nd alternative).
McD calling Tebow’s possible participation in short yardage plays ridiculous… That was ridiculous.
Tennessee has the highest ranked red zone D in the NFL right now. I don’t want to see any of McD’s usual and predictable 1st half scheme that calls for all throws to be 15 yards or less. Let Orton air it out at any point in game. He has earned the full green light. Maybe even a bomb on the 1st play. That would give TN a nice wakeup call.
Josh McDaniel's Broncos are 9 - 10. He holds a .473 winning percentage. Updated weekly.
Tennessee has the #1 red zone D versus...
The Charlie Batch version of the Steelers, The generous NY Giants, and the Jason Campbell version of the Raiders. Denver has by far the best passing offense they’ve played, so I’ll reserve judgement until after the game on whether or not the Titans have a great RZ defense.
To say what he said the way he said it was adbsurd. He could have just said “We didn’t draft Tim to be a shart yardage back or gimmick player”, but he basically said that poeple that have that thought go through their minds are ‘rediculous’. Which – it’s not – he did that in college and did it well.
BTW – - I’m getting worried about Orton in clutch situations. That’s just me.

Go Broncos!
It is surprising that the word ridiculous is spelled that way. Sure sounds like rediculous. I before e except after c (English is a weird language).
Orton is the least of Denver’s worries. He is playing much better than the majority of his teammates or the coaching equivalent of McD and his staff.
Charlie Batch’s offense looked pretty good to me vs Tampa. I’ve got nothing on the NYG or Faiders. Denver would also defeat those two teams. We don’t suck, we’re just not good.
Tennessee is not an impossible game, but they are a hell of a lot better than the Jags and we didn’t win that one did we.
I’d put Denver odds at about 35% that we win this one vs the Titans. Won’t be able to lose the TO battle or kill ourselves with penalties. Our margin for error will be less than theirs.
They have a little bit more talent on their roster than we do and unlike the Jags or Seahawks, the Titans are actually well coached so McD will have his hands full with a staff that knows what they are doing.
No Moreno or Larson. Harris is back so that will be great if I don’t have to watch Daniels continue to blow it.
Josh McDaniel's Broncos are 9 - 10. He holds a .473 winning percentage. Updated weekly.
doesn't daniels still start at LG?
I think Beadles will be the utility guy in case Harris can’t go for the whole game.

Go Broncos!
I find this "ridiculous"
I’m not the coach or the GM or the owner, but you’re going to have a really tough time convincing me that Daniels is a better guard than Beadles. You do not keep your best “utility” player on the sideline simply because he’s your best utility player. If Harris can’t go the whole game, then switch Beadles to RT and insert Daniels, but otherwise, I’d like to see our best 5 on the field together for a change. I know, it’s just me – end of rant.
Go Broncs!
It's "just" football
What is ridiculous is that we’ve only scored on 3 of 10 runs from the 1 yard line (or something like that). That was McDaniels point regarding Tebow. If you have to resort to gimmicks on goal to go at the 1, you have problems.
At Florida, it wasn’t a gimmick—it was their normal offense so I don’t think the comparison is the same. I agree with the experts that Tebow can’t be expected to run his college offense at the pro level. Doesn’t mean he won’t be successful—QBs that can run (scramble) and throw can be very successful.
And I agree with you about Orton. I’m not worried per se—I look at it more as Orton has about 29 games to show that he can lead in the 4th Q and in the Redzone. If he does, then he gets the long term contract here. If he doesn’t, we move on to plan B (Tebow).
We have huge problems. We need gimmicks. That has been my point all along.
McD can’t remain in denial about the state of our running game. Yes he probably knows it sucks, but that doesn’t stop him from continuing to slam Moreno and Maroney and whomever between the tackles on any short yardage situations. We continue to convert on about a 25% ratio. It’s disgraceful.
Give me some gimmicks until we get a real running scheme.

He has said “We didn’t draft Tim to be a shart yardage back or gimmick player.” Multiple times, in fact, since the draft. The "ridiculous’ part of his comment has less to do with whether Tebow is capable of handling the situation, and more to do with the repeated proposals despite what McDaniels has already said about the subject.
Having said that, I would not be surprised if McD DID use Tebow in goalline situations.

Go Broncos!
I guess the head referee (Pereira) didn't look at the Broncos/Colts game!
My goodness on the pass interference (twice on Gaffney in the endzone) Eddie Royal got pummeled at the goal line while the ball was in the air…It’s one thing to say the refs did an outstanding job, but in reality they are just human and love to non call teams with the stars on them…And, that was just a couple of plays they turned the blind eye to…
I am noticing the MSM hate for Josh McDaniels also follows ex-Broncos. The MSM does not pass up on a chance to hate on Cutler and Marshall.
It’s weird.
Josh McDaniel's Broncos are 9 - 10. He holds a .473 winning percentage. Updated weekly.
They both made themselves targets with their own behavior. Crybabies that don’t return the owners call and are known for sideline pouts will get ripped. Guys who aren’t kicker but punt the ball in practice are asking to be ripped. Those two guys are very good for the entertainment side of the NFL.
Funny
- I think Marshall will turn out to be overhyped after a year or two and is already coming back to earth. He still catches a low % of balls thrown his way and only rarely does he get past way downfiled. Genrally he seems to be sbest at the short to intermediate route and using his body to ‘box out’ smaller defenders. People originally overvalued Marshall coming out of Denver and I don’t thik he’s going to live up to the hype. I was in Miami last week and the guys on the radio spent the week talking about Jason Taylor, Mark Sanchez, and Chad Henne. There was very little excitement on the Marshall front.
- Cutler was overhyped but his play last year brought the media/fans back down to earth. Thing with JC is that he’s sloppy and makes the same mistakes over & over (which is unacceptible) BUT (big BUT) he is unquestionably a dangerous with a great arm, a gorgeous pass, great mobility, and very good toughness. He forces lots of stuff and has an offputting demeanor though too. He is fun to watch, but touch to root for. He’ll get overhyped again at some point, but inevitably, he’ll get chopped down because of his disposition paired with high turnover totals and reckless passes. Favre has many of the same traits as Cutler, only when he was with GB early in his career, his reckless passing & turnover stats wre offset by the fact that he was incredibly likeable. Unlike Cutler. Just MO

Cutler's mobility and arm
are the secret to whatever success awaits him, methinks. He makes routine plays exciting, even though the results are often the same or worse than what a “game manager” might produce. But you’re right, bottom line is that he is fun to watch.
