Ten Good Minutes With John Elway
I have to admit, this is one of the highlights of my time running MileHighReport. I am, afterall, a Broncos fanatic and getting the chance to talk to any of the Broncos Legends is special. Talking to THE Legend, well, that is something else. Below is the 10-minute conversation I had with John Elway.
NFL.com and Pepsi Max are looking for the Ultimate Fan. The winner will be sent to London, England to take part in the festivities surrounding the Broncos game against the 49'ers in Wembley Stadium on October 31st. A dinner with John Elway himself is included. In promoting this contest, I was able to spend some time with Elway. I tried to make the most of it and hope I did Broncos Country proud.
Enjoy!

WOW!!!
Elway… I don’t think Woody or Krieger (any DP dummy) could get such an interview right now.
The world of media is changing. It’s a good thing. Congrats.
Josh McDaniel's Broncos are 9 - 10. He holds a .473 winning percentage. Updated weekly.
Agree with McG...Great job John...Elway is FULLY onboard with this team. Maybe some of these chowder head fans might buy in too!

Awesome
I have been waiting for this all day, just constantly hitting refresh. Thanks for all the hard work John.
Very cool!!
Good questions, he answered them on target, made the most of your allotted time. I would’ve been nervous, too! :-)
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
Great interview John!
Really wish I could go to the Broncos party with Elway and Little on Friday, but they dont want to sell me a ticket :(

I need to cut a clip from that when Elway is talking about Tebow
and said he was not drafted to be a tailback… so that whenever that debate comes up again I can just send that clip and be like: TAKE IT FROM THE MASTER!

Great work, John...Bena
Very professional. Good set of questions. The conversation flowed real well. It’s good to see “one of us” get a chance to interview someone as important to football as John Elway. Thanks for representing MHR!!

Elway's Involvement?
There was talk that Elway would be more involved wit the team this year, has that actually happened?
Great job
I love listening to Elway speak. From his work on America’s game, just back to the old sound bits on NFL Films, this guy is just fun to listen to.
Great work, John. Ten minutes of Elway for Mile High Report, and I will for sure be checking out this contest! I LOVE Pepsi Max!!!

As soon as Elway started talking...
I was like…WOOHOO! Its actually John Elway!
Great perils have this beauty, that they bring to light the fraternity of strangers.
When John Elway speaks the world listens!
He is absolutely right about our running failures, these young talented offensive linemen (Beadles, Walt and Daniels) come out of college holding their own on pass protection, but when it comes to blocking a running scheme they will struggle and rightly so. One thing we have noticed, at least I have, in ever game they have played together (3) they have improved on every week. They will get it together some time this season and when they do our offense will be fierce and competitive. Right now they are in baby steps falling over the furniture…Pretty soon though, they will be running all over everybody! Mark these words and believe it. great interview John and thanx for bringing it…

John, You definitely took advantage of your time with THE man himself, John Elway. Excellent questions. I am incredibly amped that one of our own was able to get a chance to chat with one of the greatest players to ever be in a Denver Broncos uniform. Congrats to you John!

Impressive
Fantastic interview, John. Great job
It's just about time for us to get out there and win a MF Game!
You deserved this interview.
You’ve worked hard. You’ve gotten better. You were ready. And when you got your chance you came through like a pro. I get the feeling this is only the beginning.
Great job John! I’m proud of you!
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

Very… Very… Very cool!!!!!
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.
Excellent Job
I always love to hear Elway speak. Unlike some, he doesn’t voice his opinion every hour of every day on every stupid little NFL triviality in order to create advertising revenue for a television network, which makes his words worth more when he chooses to speak. I appreciate that, and I appreciate this interview.

Kudos! John, You and your MHR baby are beyond comparison. The best football site on the WWW! A personal with Johnny Boy. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
How lucky are we
we got to see that guy play for our team. Top 5 all time at any position.

Whoa
Interview with John Elway, this site just jumped up another level.
"It's the first time that I've probably ever seen a 260 pound back run into a free safety and go flat on his back, I mean it was exciting." ~John Elway
nice!
congrats, john! reeled in THE Big Fish. don’t forget the little people and don’t stray from your roots now that you’re Large.
Thanks!
It’s great to hear from John Elway! Way to go John Bena!
Everyone is going to hate me for saying this, but I think Hillis would have been a great weapon for us in short yardage situations. Still don’t understand why he is gone, but he is and there is nothing we can do about it.
I agree, Tebow was not drafted to be a tailback. Neckbeard is doing a super job! If we have a chance to make the playoffs this year, I am going to grow a neckbeard in support!
Very Nice Job John
I can say this. If it was me doing the interview, phone call or not, I probably would have stammered and stuttered and maybe even peed myself. I thought it went well. Pretty cool stuff.

A great 10 minutes young man!
Good interview! Elway hit the nail on the head, regarding the importance of having a good running game and red zone success.
DUDE!!!
I mean DUDE!!!!!
DUDE!!!!
DUDE!!!!!
You LUCKY SONOVAGUN!!! Nice, congratulations!!!!!

Interesting that he said it's easier to pass protect with a young line than it is to run block
I would have thought it would be the other way around??
In good times and bad times, I'm a Bronco fan. Sucka.
I know our young guys are more proficient in pass blocking in terms of experience
but that sounded like a surprising generality as he said it.

I told John (Bena) this when he first let me know he had the interview:
John, I’ve never disliked you or had any ill will towards you, but for those ten minutes I will hate you with all the envy I possess.
Or something similar. Lucky SOB…I’m gonna win that trip dammit! Probably not, but I’ll try. lol

Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
Don’t worry about it. As an ignorant redneck, I’m qualified to say that.
How about the
GOAT QB for Denver saying “it wasn’t really me, it was because we won those championships”.
Man, that is class. I can’t speak for anyone else but Mr. Elway, you had my football heart long before that! Those B2B championships were the icing on the cake, and very sweet icing at that. I will admit I would like to feel that way again. Even when that happens John Elway will still be “The Legend”.
Congrats to you Mr. Bena on a much desired interview and great job.

The questions
were a LOT better than the answers. Not that I hold that against Elway. The fact that he was a very good football player should not be construed to equate with expectations that he has great insight or communicative skills. A lot of people have clamored for Elway to be a coach or a commentator but those may not be his areas of strength.
Thanks and you are one lucky guy John.
