Little known information about Prater

So for those of you who don't live in the area, there is a weekly show called "Broncos Live" that airs every Monday (or Tuesday) after a Broncos game.  They one guy from the team co-hosting the show and one "special guest"  This week it was Correl Buckhalter as co-host and Matt Prater as the special guest.  There honestly isn't much on these shows usually that you don't pick up from the site, or I'd give them a regular full review, but I learned something this week that is quite interesting about our kicker Matt Prater.  Follow after the jump to see what is so surprising...

Are any of these nuggets golden?

  1. Prater is 9 of 11 in FGs 50+ yards.
  2. This year Prater converted over 90% of his FGs
  3. Prater sports some wicked-sick arm tats

NOPE...that's not it.

Buckhalter mentioned that Prater is one of the guys...they don't treat him different from the rest of the team.  Prater brought up that he likes to work out with the team.  So the host asked Buckhalter which of the two of them were stronger.

Buckhalter's response?  -------------  "Probably Matt....even though pound for pound, I'm pretty strong"

The host then asks Prater, "So how much can you bench?"

Prater says, "I don't know...I don't really keep track honestly."

Host badgers him a little more, "What like 300?"

Prater's response?  --------------   "Pffffffft...more than 300"

So yeah, our kicker can bench over 300lbs

...or at least he thinks he can.  =)

(Not that I think this matters a lick...as long as he can kick 59 yard FGs, I've got his back...the kid is good and needs to stay with this team for a long long time)
