I have to say, I was worried at the beginning of the season that we might take a step backwards from last season, but never in my worst nightmares did I imagine this. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting sick of making the Raiders look like the NFL elite every year when they come to Denver.
Today I watched the Browns take it to the Saints and I envied BOTH teams. I cannot remember a moment in which the Broncos embarrassed me more.
After this performance, there is no game that remains on the schedule that I feel I can point to and say with confidence, this game is going to be a win. As much as I am behind Tim Tebow and look for him to succeed, the very fact that drafting him creates the greatest buzz this team has generated all year and likely for the rest of the year as well, is an indication that the Broncos are fast sinking into irrelevancy.
While I am not a Josh McDaniels apologist, I am a fan of his and I do like him. However, after this game I think he must be on the hot-seat, and if he is not, he should be. He has to prove NOW that this game is an aberration and not an indication of things to come. Yes, the players bear responsibility for execution. But this game was an abject failure on every level, and that begins with the coaching staff.
There are no excuses for this. Granted, I am still incensed and absolutely perplexed, but at the moment, there is no silver lining that I can see. All I can say is I desperately hope to never see a game like this again.
