Random Thoughts on the Team, Season, and Fans
- That loss made me feel the worst I ever have as a fan. I know I haven't experienced all of the losing seasons early in the team's history, as I'm younger than most of the posters on this great website, and only really reached the point of obsession within the past decade. But that was just horrible, and I'm going to avoid anything about the game outside of MHR and the morning Denver Post.
- Why did we keep players like Orton, Knowshon, and Royal in as long as we did? There's no reason to risk them getting hurt, with Moreno and Royal coming off injuries and Orton being one of the most valuable players on the team at this point in time. Maybe you don't want to risk Tebow getting shell-shocked, so put in Brady Quinn. I don't think playing to fourth quarter in that game could be worse for him than spending three years as a member of the Browns.
- Part of me really wants to see what Tim Tebow can do running this offense. I know that Orton is the best option at this point in time, so I'm not advocating benching him. I guess I'm just anxious; I was really excited when we drafted Tebow.
- If you're gonna wear a Raiders jersey, why JaMarcus? Most fans of your team are probably wondering what's wrong with you when you wear that, not just Broncos fans. I get that you're trying to look like a gangster in a city where there aren't any and a school where most people don't pay attention to the NFL (or sports in general), but couldn't you at least get a jersey of somebody who's still on the team or was halfway decent while they were there? Could you pull up your pants while you're at it? Maybe you just want to spread the gift of laughter to the world...
- I'm holding out hope for this season and the future, more so than many seem to be. What can I say? I'm an optimist.
- I'm not sure who/what is most to blame for that loss, but it's probably a combination of things.
- Jason Hunter has pleasantly surprised me. He's doing his job, and doing it well. I'm glad we had the opportunity to snag him.
- D.J. Williams really helps the defense run, and is one of the few bright spots. He just can't do it all by himself.
- Knowshon is probably the only back we have that can really contribute to the team after this year. Buckhalter is still a decent weapon in the passing game, but he can't seem to stay healthy. LenDale could be a nice compliment next season, if we decide to bring him back.
- I think that McDaniels keeps his job next year. Bowlen probably won't give in to the calls for his head that have been growing recently.
- That was one violent (and somewhat warranted) knee-jerk reaction by a lot of people after that game. (I wasn't able to get on MHR yesterday, so don't take this as a shot at you or anybody else, just an observation.)
- At least the Chargers lost.
- I think that Orton (at his best) could become a top 5 QB in the league, but I don't think he'd be able to sustain it long enough to be remembered as one of the all-time greats. He'll probably be remembered more like Jake Plummer.
- It's cool how the team is pushing fans to recreate that home field advantage. The atmosphere at Orange Sunday seemed amazing. The only other time I've seen the camera shaking like that was when Cutler was getting booed in the preseason last year.

words of wisdom "shell-shocked"
i agree with your statement and i’m also young (24) as some of the great fans here but…for me i have been watching the broncos for a long time heck., my mom as a pic of me in a broncos baby onesie lol also helps that we lived a cpl blocks down from mile high but i digress. I couldn’t believe the dejection from the players they did in fact give up. It was pathetic. And was up with McD standing away from his players!? McD is just a plain FAIL! To be trolling around after the scoreboard is being lighted up left and right is just plain unacceptable. He better pull his head out of the sand because NO ONE is going to feel bad for him.
