Looking for answers about our run game

This post is not meant to be critical of any aspect of the Broncos or in any way a definitive opinion as to what’s wrong with the run game.  I am hoping that others will comment on my observations so that I can use their input to help me evaluate my observations.

It seems to me that on running plays there are more defenders at the point of attack than can be accounted for by the assigned blockers. I am not talking about defensive pursuit or missed blocks but simply numbers. It’s almost like the defense knows when a run is called and where it is designed to go to. Many times it seems like defenders are moving to the point of attack before the snap. If this is true I can only think of 4 explanations. Ether the formation, the personnel, the line calls or the way the Mike is identified is giving away the play. I am sincerely looking for other, maybe better informed, opinions as to the validity of this point. I have not been able to formulate any specific idea as to what is giving away the play. I guess what I am asking is dose anyone else share this observation and does anyone have an idea as to what could be tipping the run play to the defense?
