Wow.
Officially on record with a 10-6 prediction for 2010! (8/21/10)

At least their injury list is longer than ours. ;-p

It's been a long time

We really need Goodman back in the game
He’s our best chance at creating turnovers in the secondary, and while I’m a Cox fan, Goodman is just better at this point.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
I'm really starting to wonder how Larsen fits into our plans going forward.
The guy at one time had me believing that he was gonna be our new young stud mike backer – I guess not. I love Spencer as a person but as a player I don’t know anymore.
Can we trade Larsen for Hillis back?? pretty please

Hillis is a terrible blocker
They have nothing in common. Or were you joking?
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos/Dodgers/Lakers fan in Niners/Raiders/Giants/Warriors country, and damned proud of it.
I am a McDaniels supporter through and through
I think he is a football genius but sometimes you have to bend your scheme to the talent at your disposal. I understand that Hillis had problems picking up the blitz and he did fumble a couple times (like Moreno and Buck haven’t) but he is way too talented just to write off completely. Hillis is an offensive weapon and should have been used accordingly. Whatever he supposedly lacked, he more than enough made up for it in running and catching the football. It was a sad day when he was traded.
Shannon Sharpe wasn't the best blocking tightend, either...
…but that didn’t stop him from becoming a great tight-end, who could catch the ball, now did it?
What has that got to do with it...seriously.....HILLIS IS NOT A FIT FOR THE BRONCOS...lets wish him luck and move on.
You, my friend, are proof you dont need to have big floppy feet and a red nose to be a clown!
"I actually watched the World Cup. I HATE baseball. Hockey’s over. Hey, at least we have the WNBA. Oh, man. I’m making a noose. Want one?"

Rubbish...
…how is a guy like Hillis, who rushed for 144 yards against the Ravens, which has one of the leagues better defenses, not a fit for the Broncos, who have a totally anemic running game?
BTW, weren’t you asking just yesterday why we’re still “talking about a dude that does not play here?” Good question. So why are you still talking about him today? Hmm?
But to answer your question, the argument was that Hillis couldn’t block as though that was reason enough to get rid of him. However, my point is that, since Sharpe wasn’t known as a blocker either, what would have happened had the Broncos gotten rid of him because he wasn’t a blocker? Would he have become one the NFL’s premier receiving tight-ends for the Denver Broncos?
urk
You have to pay attention to the discussion. Sharpe did not play in McDaniels’ offense. In McD’s offense, a running back that can pick up a pass block (and know when to roll out as an option) is a premium asset. If a running back can’t do that, he won’t make the field. McD can alter his offense but he won’t change it to that degree because it will undermine the entire philosophy of the scheme.
Talk about beating a dead horse.

No kidding.
Hillis is better suited for a different offensive philosophy. He’s having success, good for him. But he’s gone. He’s not coming back. Ever. Get over it.
And we’re not going to use Tebow on the goal line either.
Next…

Damn
ease up man….. We still talk about Elway and he ain’t comin back either…..
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
Don’t worry about it. As an ignorant redneck, I’m qualified to say that.
Elway did not play for some-one else....

Not the point
Lets just discuss things. If you don’t want to talk about Hillis then don’t. Just pass that part of the discussion.
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.

Fair enough...but WHY are we CONSISTENTLY talking about a dude that does not play here?.....and i wish nothing but the best for him....but what good does it serve?.....

Well
I don’t really care one whit about Peyton Hillis. My whole point is that he is an ongoing topic of conversation here. As with any topic, it should be allowed to run it’s course.
This is a blog, people get to join and chat, blog, talk. About whatever is on their mind. Past players I would think is a relevant conversation. Within a year of them being on the team I would think there is interest.
Why not? Why not talk about the what if’s?? For crying out loud we have talked the running game to death. The Cutler trade just won’t die. What makes Hillis and his trade to Cleveland different? Or is it because he is doing well ?
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
Don’t worry about it. As an ignorant redneck, I’m qualified to say that.

true
He is like the only guy we’ve unloaded who is actually doing well for his new team… oh well get better andre we need some turnovers

No, talk about the irony...
…here the Broncos have had a completely anemic run game, we play the Ravens in Baltimore tomorrow, where the Broncos are 0-4 (i.e., as in “winless”), and Peyton Hillis, who the Broncos just traded away, has already gashed the Ravens, who are known to have one of the NFL’s better defenses, for 144 yards in Week Three. How is all this not relevant to tomorrow’s game?
Why is it?

"I actually watched the World Cup. I HATE baseball. Hockey’s over. Hey, at least we have the WNBA. Oh, man. I’m making a noose. Want one?"
Harv Neptune.
My question was purely rhetorical...
…and, as such, it did not require an answer (or a question framed as though it was an answer.) Of course, for someone like you, who obviously uses “PHUCK,” “frickin,” and “shit” to converse, I wouldn’t really expect you to understand even this.
In short
You can’t break your scheme for one player. What if he gets hurt? You can bend the scheme but if the guy can’t do one of the most important part of the scheme… He’s in a better scheme now which is WHY he’s doing so great.
Can we close this topic now?

Kyle generally goes to the line with two plays. Since Hillis isn’t much of a blocker, Kyle couldn’t as easily choose a pass play and the defense would know that. I loved me some Peyton Hillis like the rest of us, but McDaniels’ explanation as to why Hillis didn’t fit very well made a lot of sense to me. Having him in the backfield would limit our options and thereby limit what we do best… hit ’em where they aint.
It's just about time for us to get out there and win a MF Game!

This list would be a whole lot better
if Maroney was injured instead of Moreno…

Hate to see KnoMo and Spencer out...
But isn’t it nice to see that list so short?
Madden be trippin' on my speed.
I dont care anymore...both those guys are injury prone...and Larsen is a VERY average FB.....very average.....good ST...his talent is as a LB IMO...and if aint played there...why is he on the team?

ST is enough for worse players to stay on the team
At this point, I’ll take a healthy Larsen over Willis any day.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
I'm thinking McD is holding Moreno out so he won't run out of gas in the second part of the season...
I would like to see me some Andre Brown this Sunday! Yes sir…It’s about time he get a feel of the pig skin.
For
the love of Rulon Jones, can we all quit talking about Peyton Hillis. The Browns have ONE win, the Broncos have TWO, plus we’re going to be a playoff team and they’re not. Enough of this HIllis nonsense. As for players that are here, I look forward to having Goodman and Woodyard back. GO BRONCOS!!!

Talk about hating to see the inconvienant truth...
…the real reason why people don’t want to talk about Peyton Hillis right now is because the Broncos don’t have a running game, and because Hillis, who was traded away, had 144 yards rushing against the Ravens, who we play tomorrow in Baltimore, where we’re completely winless. Get what I’m putting down?
Well...he does not play for us is MOST people's reason. Believe what you want to believe.

Hogwash...
…the inconvient truth still stands:
The Broncos (who don’t have a running game now) traded away Hillis (who HAS already rushed for 144 yards in Game Three against the Ravens’ defense, which IS one of the NFL’s better defenses), and NOW the Broncos have to play in Baltimore, WHERE the Broncos have never beaten the Ravens.
No damned wonder you don’t want to think about Hillis right now.
plus if hillis was here hed have about 4 yards
If he even would have touched the field.GET OVER IT!!!!!
2-14! TILL WE PROVE WE AINT!!!!!!

I love Hillis but
I think the reason we are really missing him is because our running game is so lacking. He is in a different offense so it is really comparing apples to oranges. Bottom line he wasn’t going to get used in Denver the way he is in Cleveland.

The injury report is balnced a little in our direction for a change...
I’m curious to how many Titans are on the injury list this week? Anybody know? They were dropping like flies in the 2nd half of the game last week…Who said we ain’t tough this year? I haven’t seen the Broncos show so much physicality in a long time…I was proud of the boys! If we come out swinging this week and get Flacco and the gang off balanced we can win this thing…I won’t be one of the butt holes who say we can’t…
