Minor League NFL Football...

More often than not, a sports fan's overall favorite team is their good 'ole Pigskin one...over baseball, hockey, and basketball. Baseball and Hockey teams have affiliate franchises to their respective MLB and NHL organizations...why not Football? Yes, the exposure of NCAA football is a free training ground for the NFL but imagine the potential revenue that could be created using Minor League Football franchises in various markets that are in close proximity to their NFL franchise. How about the Wyoming Broncos for instance...the Fresno Raiders, the Bakersfield Rams(huge LA Ram fanbase still lurks these parts), the Mexico City Chargers(promote international football,)...basically have these Minor League teams play within 300-500 miles of the NFL team...have the uniforms mostly the same, except on the helmets use the secondary logo for each team....the Wyoming Broncos could sport the full body horse jump;ing and turning sideways. There is not much interest in the United Football League and Arena Football because there is no association with an NFL franchise. In comparison...whenever the Modesto Nuts(Colorado Rockies affiliate) come near my hometown of Tulare, I make the short trip to the home of the Visalia Rawhide(Diamondbacks affiliate) to watch potential future Rockies play. And with an 18 game season on the horizon, increased roster depth will be a must for NFL teams to deal with more injuries, so these players could get the call up anytime. College football stadiums could host the games, and NFL fans can't get enough of their organization so attendance would not be a problem. It would also provide a more affordable way for fans to support their favorite NFL franchise while getting to watch former NFL players, undrafted free agents, and other diamonds in the rough compete their tails off trying to get back to the Big Show. Start the season in mid February and have it end in early June...10 game season and an 8 team playoff. Best of all, make the NFL officials ref these games to give them some damn practice!!! Also, the NFL could use this league to experiment with new rules before making them official. What do you guys think?
