Earlier in the week...
I predicted that Robert Ayers would make his long awaited return. Well, it looks like I was wrong….

"Victory belongs to the most persevering." --Napoleon.
And without Goodman
This might be a long game trying to stop the Chiefs offense.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.
Word. I can see them
using a lot of play-action in this game. Hopefully Denver can pull out the upset. It’s hard to say, but I have finally come to grips with the fact that the Broncos are….underdogs.
Sigh It hurts even to say that…..

Embrace the underdog role...
We may be in it for a while. Unfortunately.
The silver lining, I suppose, is that there are no immediate expectations. Perhaps that can be used as an advantage to help us spoil a few playoff aspirations along the way.
Go Broncos!
Bleeding Orange and Blue for 43 years
I hope we win
And I think we can, KC isn’t great against the pass, so Orton can air it out, and Tebow can run it in in the RZ. But if our defense can’t stop their backs, we may never get to see the offense on the field. If we force the game on Cassel, we got this, but they’ve run over much better defenses then ours.

Exactly what I'm worried about.
Our Defense vs Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles.
The thing that really hurts us is not having Ayers. He specializes in setting the edge, forcing RBs to go back into the middle of the defense, where all the beef is (see the Titans game.) That would have really helped against the surprisingly fast Jamaal Charles.

Hopefully Hunter's grubbing down his Wheaties!

He'll need to his Flutie Flakes for this game
Wink (in the DB.com interview) seemed like he was biting at the bit to get Robert Ayers back into action. He knows that setting the edge is much easier with that man on the field. I don’t know why so many people freak out about Ayers, wishing that we’d drafted Orakpo/Matthews instead. I’m not saying that those guys aren’t players, I’m just saying that Ayers is an absolute force against the run, and his pass rush skills were getting there. He had 2 in 4 games (BAL doesn’t count, as he was playing with a broken bone in his foot). At that pace (if healthy) he would have 7 to 8, by the end of the year. No one would be griping then.
was goody hurt in practice?
2-14! TILL WE PROVE WE AINT!!!!!!

Time
to shut the Queefs up. They’re talking all this junk about us and while they are 5-3, they’ve dropped 3 of 4, they’re reeling just like we were last year. The Chiefs are frauds. Time to expose them!

Ooooh
Since Goodman’s out…. We all know Cassel doesn’t tend to throw Bailey’s way very much (gee, I wonder why)…. I know Cox is very very hungry for his first INT…. Goodman got a pick 6 on Cass-man last season… Hm? Rookie breakout game anyone?

Here's hoping
Because we aren’t getting them off the field without turnovers.

It would actually be his 2nd int....
He has his first in the Seattle game.

That's right, I meant to type pick 6, cause I was referencing Goodman's
Thanks for pointing that out.

No problem! :)
I’m with you though, hopefully Cox gets another INT. Lord knows we need players to step it up!

It seems to me
like our picks/turnovers in general, come in bunches. When that first one comes, look out, the floodgates open wide. If there was a game this year in which getting turnovers was paramount, it would be this game. Hopefully our offense can come out the gates and score a couple times to alleviate the pressure on defense to make big plays. When facing a rushing attack like the Queefs, it’s best to be fundamentally sound, and not worry about doing too much.
Biggest thing for turnovers
we have to start forcing teams to pass the ball more. Teams simply haven’t had to take many chances against us, and when they aren’t passing, I would guess that around 80% of the possible turnover opportunities are gone…
Which brings us back to stopping Jones and Charles….

Notice Wiliams is listed as -
Willams will probably pllay unless McD benches him on general principles.

It's the injury report way of saying "no comment"
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens.

I'm hiding my frustration on the other end of your ethernet cable.
Believe me, I could think of other words that describe my feelings of this situation, but I would have to moderate myself and delete them.

What DJ did is as selfish as it gets
I understand the whole party scene (being a former hardcore partier myself) but when you are in DJ’s position, making millions of dollars and a whole team of men counting on you, it’s completely unexcusable. Perhaps this is some insight into the uninspiring play of our team? With arguably the biggest game of the year coming up, you go out and get sloshed til 3 in the morning? That is not a way to represent the title of team captain. You’ll never see Woodyard, Royal, Tebow or DT (many others that I can’t name off the top) pulling this crap.
One last note on DJ.
A person who gets wasted and is out partying until 3AM when they have to be at work again in a few hours just doesn’t take their job seriously.
I can see a college kid screwing off like that, but not when your salary is in the millions. You just dont get to SHOW UP and make that money…work for it you ingrate.
Captain or not, trade that ahole. Wrong DUI, wrong message, wrong time. We can forgive a DUI in the offseason, after a win, or even immediately after a loss…on a Thursday night when you had practice the day before and the day following, during a 4 game losing streak…yeah. Don’t let the door hit your selfish ass on the way out, sir.

I don't know if I'm ready to go that far yet
but I agree, that was a super selfish act. It sends the wrong message to the young guys, and it defintely sends the message to me that he’s not taking this thing serious. When you’re 2-6, you don’t have the luxury to be having party life, especially during the work week. I’m not ready to give up on DJ yet, and I think he means something to this team, but apparently he isn’t taking Chiefs week serious enough. There’s no more room for children on this team. We need some bonafide men running the show.
The biggest stat of the year so far...
NINE takeaways….. nine.
That just ain’t getting it done!
At least we are on pace to beat the worst takeaway year in 30 plus years (in 2008 we had a TOTAL of 13)
We had 19 in the 9-game, 2-7 record, 1982 strike year for petes sake.
