Moss Still not picked up

I find it very telling that with all the injuries out there and seemingly everyone needing defensive linemen that Moss did not get picked up on waivers. He has not even been signed yet that I know of as a free agent. It is no wonder this team is as mediocre as it is in light of all the miss opportunities of past drafts.

This is my #1 reason we are an average football team. Teams like the Steelers and Patriots and Falcons (weird huh) which seem to be at the top of the league right now have used the draft to build and supplemented it with a few free agents. Just the opposite of Shanahan's philosophy.

While the jury is still out as it is way too soon to tell with the last 2 years draft classes, it is more important than ever to find key contributors in the draft. And, we need to be sure not to overpay so much that we are in a hurry. AKA "Alphonso I am almost leading the league in interceptions" Smith.

I love that so many of you here on MHR are draft junkies. I am also but not as one who does the research and digs deep for mock drafts but as one who loves to read what you all come up with.

As it stands right now, My opinion is we need a couple more players that can come in and make a significant contribution right away on the Defensive side of the ball. I am convinced our biggest need is QB pressure. Whether that means DL or LB that can rush, I am not picky. Safety is another area much talked about on here but I am not so sure we dont have a couple really good ones on the team right now. Yes McBath has gotten hurt but those were freak injuries in my opinion. Bruton has done an excellent job when he has been in on D as well.

So lots of rambling but this just brings me full circle back to the title. We need to rush the passer more effectively and I feel the best way to get that is through the draft. Moss, in theory, should have been one of the major contributors the last few years and now is gone. Who is up next?
