Mock Draft V2

2nd fanpost.

So I'm sitting here in my basement chilling with family, and reading all of the hate coming for McDaniels, Orton, and the defense. I've also read great posts about the real problem with our team by users Nick Cast and Wobble. I said in my first mock that we are not a bad team and after a couple weeks I am going to stick with that for now. Now our defense is bad. Very bad. We might get more production if we just take the defense off the field and hope for mistakes from the offense. Brian Dawkins can't cover or tackle anyone who can run a 4.8 and Champ Bailey gives up on his team when up big and down big. Jamaal Williams can't get a push while pass rushing or run blitzing. Mario Haggan while solid against the run provides nothing in both pass rush and pass coverage. Renaldo Hill? Andre Goodman? Both have been absent this season. The offense while KO has been solid and a real trooper lets look beyond the passing yardage and trash stats he has acumulated. Follow me after the jump and then on to my mock.

Star-divide

These stats are taken out of contex but these are his important stats against the Chargers. 1 for 15 on third downs. We also had 12 offensive drives in our blow out loss. On 2 of those drives we scored and the second one came after we were down by 28 points. Ladies and Gentlemen thats a 16% success rate of converting drives into point. New players are needed to REBUILD. The dreaded word is finally happening and its for the best. This offseason expect Champ to leave to a team like the Ravens, Steelers, or Falcons. Expect Dawkins and Hill to retire. We need young talent at corner, safety, linebacker, d line, tight end, and running back. Mini rant over.

Possible Offseason trades:

Kyle Orton and a 5th to the Titans for a 2nd round pick and 3rd round pick

DJ Williams to the Giants for 3rd and 4th round pick

Possible Offseason transactions:

The cutting of veterans; Renaldo Hill, Ronald FieldsDaniel Graham, Russ Hotchstein, Correl Buchalter

Ryan Harris- He really proved his worth to me this season. With him our running game has looked unstoppable. Without him less than below average. Anemic. Expect a 2 or 3 year deal here.

Bo Scaife-  A solid receiving threat, who can block pretty well too. With the titans investing draft picks recently to the tight end position Bo could be the odd man out.

Shawn Ellis- An athletic 5 tech who could be one of many odd men in the Jets offseason aftermath.

Paul Soliai- A monster at the nose tackle , position.

Current draft picks: 1st, 2nd, 2nd(DOPHINS), 2nd(TITANS), 3rd, 3rd (GIANTS), 4th (GIANTS)

1st round pick range 6-10 The Denver Broncos select Nick Fairley Defensive End Auburn, Fairley is a hoss and has really come on strong this season living in the backfield of opposing teams. Fairley has incredible size 6'5" 300 lbs. And is a penetrating monster.

2nd round pick The Denver Broncos select Joseph Barksdale Offensive Tackle LSU, Barksdale is an elite technition and doesn't get the love he deserves.

2nd round pick The Denver Broncos select Janoris Jenkins Corner Back Florida, Jenkins has excellent ball awareness and has done well against top competition this year.

2nd round pick The Denver Broncos select Noel Devine Return Specialist West Virginia, Devine is a Sproles type scat back who can make his presence know in the screen and return game.

3rd round pick The Denver Broncos select  DJ Williams Tight End Arkansas, Williams is a talented receiving h-back tight end hybrid and McDaniels has shown a liking to these kind of players.

3rd round pick The Denver Broncos select Nate Williams Safety Washington, Williams is a bit unknown but is the leader of the Huskies defense, is always around the ball and can be successful in this league as a good run support and pass covering safety.

4th round pick The Denver Broncos select Mario Harvey Inside Linebacker Marshall, Harvey is consistent run clogger and havoc causing linebacker he has been unblockable these last two years.

And that concludes my 2011 Mock Offseason hope you enjoyed.

Not bad

Couple of issues:
 - IMO DJ is not going anywhere.
 - If Harris resigns, why spend a 2nd on an OT, that’s too early for just depth and with Harris staying we already have a starting OL hwich will have more experience and more time playing together.

Hate the trade of Orton and DJ(NOT GOING TO HAPPEN)

Love the pick of Nick Fairley – he is a great player and Denver would be lucky to draft him.

Not sure on Tackle in 2nd Round. Denver needs a Safety badly

Janoris Jenkins is rated 1st Round Player by almost every scouting dept.

Again Nick Fairley would be great.

You don't know that they won't be traded.

I guarantee you that you didn’t see Cutler, Hillis, or Scheffler as being trade bait either. IMO, Kyle and DJ, have proven themselves expendable, but that is my opinion. Neither of us know what the future will hold. If McD was so tied to Orton, why upgrade the position twice, getting rid of an absolute stud RB in the process.

I would be pretty disapointed with this draft

Im am personally ok with the orton trade bc im a believer in tebow, but trading dj and then finding his replacement with our last pick….a 4th rounder? Thats not a good idea, and why would we draft a tackle in the 2nd? we have clady, spent a 2nd and 3rd round pick at center(walton) and guard/tackle(beadles) and then you said wed resing harris, and kuper was just resigend….where would a 2nd round pick fit in? i feel like if this was our actual draft it would keep us in this 8-8 or less rut that were in, even longer

1st round

i don’t think we will use our first round pick on fairley, in my opinion. i think if anything we go corner or defensive end.

2009 NFL DRAFT, Brian Orakpo feel right to us and we didn't select him, horrible choice from the front office, not cuz i'm a Longhorns fan but cuz Orakpo would've changed our defence for the next 10 years

I would put money.....

that Orton will not be traded.

Pick one needs to be a MLB type with speed and nasty. Second pick needs to be a S. Third pick needs to be a DB. Fourth pick needs to be a Scatback. Only trades that will be made will be of draft picks on Draft Day…..

Book it.

(BT:L you spend Thanslgiving on the computer putting down mocks when the family is there? That’s insane, IMHO)

we need more than one pick on the front 7

All I gotta say

NOEL!! NOEL!!! NOEL!! NOEL!!!
Finally people are starting to see PaleHorse’s way of thinking.

Seriously

a scatback is the LEAST of our problems. That is a luxury pick and we don’t have ANY luxury this year.

MLB

I see mocks with trades of DJ Williams and no one drafting an immediate replacement for him. With that said, I think instead of drafting Barksdale in the second I say draft Kelvin Sheppard out of LSU to replace him. On a side note I don’t see DJ going anywhere but I think we should still draft Kelvin Sheppard.
