Fairly summary of the o-line woes this morning by Legwold. Nothing new here but he pretty much sums up what’s wrong with the offense right now and why we need to give it time, even if he didn’t actually come out and say so.
In good times and bad times, I'm a Bronco fan. Sucka.
I also thought that write-up was good. It made a lot of sense to me.
Thanks Johnn. Where would you put our current personnel on O-line?

Legwold's article
Seems like a no-brainer. I understand the Broncos playing Beadles at Right Tackle, but it seems more logical to play him now where you think he will end up (most likely best fit at Left Guard) and fill in the best you can at RT. Of course, two rookies side-by-side is tough when you think your team can be a contender. Maybe McD will make the move during the second half of the season with Harris playing RT and a serviceable back-up other than Beadles, while Beadles fills in more at Left Guard.
Thank you Mr. Bena
Elway should easily be in the top ten of the ‘greatest 100’ to play…. But then again, that’s coming from a Bronco fan, so there’s an obvious bias. Okay, objectively, the top eleven. ( ;
That's quite a long handle there, G Funk. - That's what she said.

According to a poll done by Chaz Mattson over at Bleacher Report,
80% of the respondents want Elway to be hired as general manager, along with Gruden as head coach.
cause another shake up is what this team needs right now

But that's fans, we really don't know crap about what it takes to run a NFL team
Elway may make a terrible GM, we have no idea.
I am a bear of very little brains and big words bother me.

Thanks John...
Article on Shanahan by Carpenter shows you a BIG reason why our tema is where it is. Shanny always thought he could make diamonds out of coal…..excpet hafl the time he confused coal for cow manure!
You, my friend, are proof you dont need to have big floppy feet and a red nose to be a clown!
"I actually watched the World Cup. I HATE baseball. Hockey’s over. Hey, at least we have the WNBA. Oh, man. I’m making a noose. Want one?"

Partially good analysis
“Diamonds out of coal” is a good analysis, but I would say the coal burned instead of converting to diamonds. “Cow manure” may also be a good analysis, but not in context of coal. Still funny though.
How does the post know we passed on Merriman
I heard three teams placed claims, Buffalo obviously got him because they have the worst record. I haven’t heard who the other teams were (I assume us and probably Oakland)
"Me fail english, that unpossible" - Ralph Wiggum
"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem" - Duffman

"H.I., you're young and you got your health, what you want with a job?" - Evelle from Raising Arizona
"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes." - Agent Rogersz from Repoman
Article said so
Tampa Bay and Miami were the only other teams to put in claims on Merriman.
Legwold...the master at stating the obvious.
It really seems like our pass protection was much better when Ryan Harris was playing RT earlier in the year. Maybe they will switch back to that as it’s the strength of our offense right now.
Letting Beadles play the rest of the year at LG, no matter how many mistakes he might make, could be the best move for the long haul. At least it would get the “mediocre even when not injured” Hochstein off the field.

If we sign a TE, does Quinn or Gronk get cut?
Josh McDaniels took an average team and made it one of the worst in the NFL. We are a team without heart, soul or brains. It is an unholy Trinity of loss. This squad is the opposite of the team McDaniels promised and that is exclusively the fault of the HC.
Fine with me. When either Quinn or Gronk is on the field, we are playing with someone that has less talent and skill than they guy on the other team across from him.

depends which draft pick you want to admit is a total failure
phonz or quinn

I know this one, I know this one….
BOTH of the above.
Phonz is gone so I guess that means Quinn is out when/if we sign a new TE.

ha ha
gronk is our last link to phonz
I have questioned both draft picks too but we will see maybe Quinn is superman and he is so busy fighting evil he doesnt have time to count how many players are on the field or block a opposing team

Does it matter?
They both suck. Gronk made a couple catches last game, but it doesn’t make up for the 3rd down drop that was dropped perfectly into his arms by Orton.
I used to be a huge Graham fan too, but he’s lost a step big time this year. We need fresh TE meat on this team.

i hate bye weeks
worse than the entire offseason combined because there’s football but no Broncos football
DP seems more negative than this site
But the OL article makes some good points. I’m no expert and I know that we were changing schemes but I think keeping Casey W around for a year would have helped tremendously for this year’s performance and would have helped Walton develop. There’s more to learning how to transition from the NCAA to the NFL beyond learning how to play your position. Casey’s veteran approach would have been settling to both rookies. I also realize that Scheffler and McD had issues but he was an above average blocker (IMHO) and a far above average receiver, and we could be using him too. Many folks have commented on CUtler and MArshall, and Hillis but losing these two have impacted the running game quite a bit.
I don’t want to engage in the emotions surrounding the keep/fire McD. To me, however, it seems kind of reckless to throw over the entire apple cart of the OL and then to keep mixing it up. This is an interesting article about the KC approach to (re)building their offensive line and it contrasts with the Broncos’ approach pretty dramatically:
“Now that the Chiefs have one of the NFL’s most reliable lines, held together not by overwhelming talent or youth, the ironic thing is that ignoring the temptation to get too experimental is perhaps the top reason for its improvement. Albert and Waters kept their jobs…Instead, the Chiefs returned to an old-school idea: Lean on veterans, including free agents Ryan Lilja and Casey Wiegmann; and assign players to a position, leave them there and see if they get better.
”http://www.kansascity.com/2010/11/02/2385805/chiefs-discover-improvement-on.html#ixzz14NY4cU9b" target="_blank">http://www.kansascity.com/2010/11/02/2385805/chiefs-discover-improvement-on.html#ixzz14NY4cU9b
I can appreciate the irony given all the talk about how Belichick’s progeny have not done well. Weis failed at ND but he’s a good coach for a staff. McD might be an excellent Off Coordinator someday – perhaps he’s just hit the Peter Principle here. He’s getting some scar tissue in this job and he’s young. If he fails here he could learn from this experience and resurface somewhere in a few years as a more mature and seasoned HC. Kyle Shanahan and the younger Brian Schottenheimer seem like young OCs who could get a shot at HC in the near future – and I predict that they will have the same pains as McD. Does anyone really think Jason Garrett is ready to he a HC? And of course, there is always the DAvid Shula example – now calling plays for Daddy’s steakhouse.
This is a lively site and I am happy to have found this all the way from Texas. Keep up the good work
