Perhaps the Broncos Are in Need of a Uniform Change

More than a decade ago, the Broncos switched their uniforms from those beloved bright orange jerseys and sky blue helmets to what we have today, the dark navy attire.

The year the Broncos changed their uniforms, they won the Super Bowl. I'm not trying to say there is a correlation, but sometimes a new look can rejuvenate the fans and the players alike. I am a big fan of the Broncos' uniforms right now, but even I have to admit, they are becoming stale.

Here we have Elvis Dumervil sporting the "blue on blue" as he feasts upon Eli Manning in what was one of my favorite games of the 2009 season. On Thanksgiving, the Broncos came out and crushed the G-Men in their alternate home uniforms, one of my favorite looks. Back in 2005, I believe the blue-on-blue look was the Broncos' primary home uniform, and I loved it.

Then, there are the Broncos' alternate orange uniforms, which are very, very cool looking. However, nobody quite pulls off the orange uni like Brian Dawkins.

Some have suggested that the Broncos do like the Atlanta Falcons did a few years back when they took a liking to their red alternate uniforms and began using them as their primary home jersey. This idea has been tossed around by Broncos fans that they should go back to the orange uniform but stick to the current design.

Again, this is an idea I could get on board with.

I think the Broncos' alternate jersey is one of the coolest in the NFL, but there's still room for improvement.

The Broncos' away uniforms leave a little bit to be desired, but I still think they are one of the coolest in the league.

None of this means there is not room for improvement. This team needs a spark and in a year and a half, the NFL is getting a new sponsor (Nike) and the uniforms could be changed.

Some have toyed with the idea of mixing the old logo with the new one:

I think this logo is cool, but I think a change to the old uniforms could spark the Broncos.

Perhaps with some modification. You Photoshop gurus should put together something with the Broncos' old colors mixed with the new style logo (think the logo above with the old colors). I think it would be great to see the Broncos put on the old orange uniforms with some slight modifications, and get this team back to its winning roots.
