Shannon Sharpe Among Hall Of Fame Finalists
Former Denver Broncos tight end Shannon Sharpe was among 15-finalists announced for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2011. The group was announced this morning.
Sharpe ended his career with more catches(815) and yards(10,060) than any tight end in history - records since broken by former Chiefs and current Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez - and won three Super Bowls(two win Denver, one with Baltimore)
The 2011 Class will be announced during Super Bowl weekend in Dallas, TX on February 5.
As for Terrell Davis, he made it to the Round of 26, but did become a finalist.

Good for him.
In completely unrelated news, did anyone see that Nandi Asomugha is now a free agent? Hmmmm…..
I’ll take one please.

Yikes!
That’d be scary for the bad guys.

Like the idea...
Think he’ll go for too much. I don’t think any CB is worth the $14mil or whatever he was making.
You're probably right,
someone will have to back up the truck to land him but I’m guessing it will be for less than what he was making before.
That being said, I could see someone like Dan Snyder blowing his wad on him, in a financial sense.

How awesome. With all the other jawing going on about the Broncos, Shannon Sharpe's status as finalist
will be grossly underreported and underappreciated in Bronco Country. Let’s take some time away from the Tebow-Elway-Coaching Search issues, and turn from rampant and divisive speculation on the future to unity in honoring the past. Sharpe redefined the TE position. Let’s celebrate this, and another deserved Broncos being closer to the HoF.

Pain is temporary. Pride is forever.
Pro-Bowl Press Conference:
Interviewer: Do you want to wink to the three teams that cut you and tell them, "I told you so?"
Brandon Lloyd: "No, I want to say, ‘F— you,’ and I mean that in the most professional way."
I agree with this...
…but the reality is that Sharpe is associated with the Denver Broncos, and the Denver Broncos aren’t respected by the HOF’s Board of Selectors, as history and tradition clearly shows.
No reason Sharpe
Should not have been a 1st ballot HoFer…if Bettis gets in before Sharpe it will further prove the Steeler Bias that the committee has…while they are at it they mine as well send Merril Hoge and Neil O Donnel in as well, have they made the Terrible Towel a HoFer yet?

Congrats
to Shannon! I hope he makes it this year.
Opinions are like......, Well anyway, this is mine.
Don’t worry about it. As an ignorant redneck, I’m qualified to say that.

Sharpe better get in this year.

Good for Shannon
We need a Sharpe type t.e. to take the pressure off Tebow. Watching the Ravens tight end tear up K.C right now, hate the Ravens but wish we had their tight end
If anyone actually thinks that Shannon Sharpe is getting in this year...

Does anyone here really think that it’s a coincidence that Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders, Willie Roaf, Tim Brown, Andre Reed, Cris Carter, Richard Dent, Charles Haley, Chris Doleman, and Cortez Kennedy were all mentioned before Shannon Sharpe? [But, hey, we should all be really grateful that Sharpe was at least named before Ed Sabol, huh?]
Nevertheless, I predict that Shannon Sharpe will eventually make it into the HOF, just not this year, and probably not any time real soon, either. He will, however, make the HOF long before Terrell Davis does, which is very unfortunate because it was his own teammate that happened to cause the injury that ultimately shortened TD’s career, which is obviously lengthening his path to Canton.
I look at that and go
Marshall Faulk, Deion Sanders, Willie Roaf, and Tim Brown will most likely get the nod but who would get the last spot. Personally i think Shannon Sharpe should get it (broncos biased aside) but will he.
All i’m going to say is if Shannon Sharpe doesn’t get the nod does that mean Tony Gonzalez won’t get it either or will they induct him right away.
And now for something completely different

There should be
a rule that if you are in the final 15 for three straight years, you automatically get selected. This is Sharpe’s third straight year in the final 15, so, they should have to select him.
