Tebow is not your prototypical QB. He has the potential to be so much more. The Broncos selection of a new head coach will be extremely important in determining the future success of Tebow.
Who are the offensive minds available that are also capable of developing a young quarterback? Urban Meyer, would be intriguing but I am finding it difficult to believe he would accept the job since he left Florida for 'personal reasons' and seemed sincere in his departure. Jon Gruden, is another candidate that would be a good fit. He has experience coaching a mobile athletic quarterback from his days in Oakland with Rich Gannon. Gannon flourished and the hated Raiders were on top of the A.F.C.
So these are some of the offensive names being thrown around the league. But don't the Broncos need a lot of help on the defensive side of the ball? If the Broncos go with a defensive minded coach, Bill Cower's name may be at the top of that list . Let's hope that doesnt happen unless we are willing to tolerate the Tebow-Stewart comparisons. Leslie Frazier? He seems almost certainly back with the Vikes.
Any new coach whether he be offensive or defensive minded will have to make a major decision in regards to Tebow. Will they be committed to the development of Tim Tebow? If so they must design their offense around his talents. He is not your stereotypical quarterback, but he could be an exceptional one. The playbook needs to be creative with its use of pick plays and timing routes while having a heavy dose of pass-option plays. All that being said, Studesville and McCoy are eliminated from the coaching hunt based on their overall lack of creativity which was clearly on display last Sunday against the Raiders.
The Broncos next head coach will have to make a choice to design an offense around Tebow, or trade Tebow and draft a first round quarterback to build an offense. It doesn't seem that long ago that Bronco fans were getting ready to pick a quarterback in the first round. and of course we picked that one guy with a strong arm from Vanderbilt (we won't mention his name but he may be in Chicago now). Either scenario means the Broncos will be back to the drawing board with a young quarterback TEBOW or not to be.....that is the question.
So there we have it Bronco fans...throw some names around and give me some input....what direction are we going to go?
