Keep Orton
Hear me out, I promise to keep it short.
The Broncos have been in need of a quality back up for years...
Orton is a decent but not great starter...
I hope not, but Tebow is probably going to get hurt at some point (knock on wood)...
If Orton is really only on the hook for 2.something million, then can you think of a better backup QB we can get for that money? (Seriously, I only really keep up with the Broncos, so I don't know if there is a better option)
I think he could be the Kolb to our Vick, what do you think?

But if we keep Orton around
Then you’ll have KO and Andrew Luck competing to be Tebow’s backup?
Psssh, you can’t treat a first-round draft pick like that. At least trade Orton so you can give Luck the backup spot.

Orton will never agree to be a backup at his age and ability....he'll quietly asked to be traded
Quinn is serviceable as backup unless somebody wants to give us a good draftpick…then he can go too!

I'm not sure there are any teams out there that want Quinn, unless...
do you think McD will be coaching again next year?

Yeah, that is the big hole in my idea I suppose,
but if he could be talked into it, I think it is the best option for the Broncos.

I voted to keep him – but I doubt it will happen. Orton can be a quality starter in this league. There will be a number of teams after him. Moreover, Orton WANTS to be a starter and he knows it won’t happen in Denver with Tebow here.
Unfortunately, Quinn is WAY too big of a question mark for me. I have flashbacks of Chris Simms when I see him. I hope I’m wrong.
Most people are running around - umbilical cord in hand - looking for a new place to plug in
with as many holes as this team has...
it makes no sense to keep a valuable commodity like a starting QB when you can trade him for other sorely needed assets/picks. Trade him.

I think we may be overvaluing Orton,
don’t get me wrong, I liked Kyle Orton as our starting QB,…
but he sucked whenever he was injured, which has been every season he has been in the NFL, if I am not mistaken.
He stands much less chance of being hurt all year if he only comes off the bench when Tebow cracks a rib or two.

I'm not overvaluing Orton...I just don't believe that we can afford to keep a starting QB on our roster as a backup when we have other needs...
to fill. I do believe we can get at least a 4th rounder for him…possibly as high as a 3rd round draft pick.

Fair enough,
the more I think about it, having a good backup for what will most likely be a throw away year next year probably shouldn’t be a high priority anyway.

Kyle Orton
while being a great gentleman and teammate, has shown he doesn’t handle adversity well.

yeah because showing up here after being traded being booed by the fans in practice while the fans and media constantly asked for him to be benched traded or cut but still managed 7400 yards 41 tds and 21 ints
Yeah he cant handle adversity lol
I don't think the majority of fans or media were asking for his benching until he hit the wall
whether that was the injury or something else happened. He’s a class act and I wish him the best but I do think he was treated fairly by the Broncos and the fan base. Obviously only my opinion and I was a staunch supporter of his from day one…even when he was with the Bears.
It looks the QB position is set for now

I like KO a lot
I think he has been nothing but class for the last two years through some seriously difficult stuff. But it appears the bandwagon is rolling and he is not on it.
For better or worse, it looks like the Tebow era has begun. For KO’s sake, and ours, I reluctantly agree that he should go elsewhere. I wish him nothing but the best. He deserves a shot with a team that can give him better support than this year’s Broncos could provide.
I can see Russia from my house.
Said with class a a Guy who has been consistently a KO guy. Props for that

Nicely stated
This reflects my feelings as well. I still respect his game and his professionalism.
“Deserves a shot with at team that can give him better support”. Yes, I agree. If he had not had the Tebow phenomenon in his rear-view mirror, I doubt he would have made the ill-fated decision to try to play those last two games injured. He really is cursed that way……ie, similar to Grossman in Chicago. He is competitive enough to want the job, good enough to hold it (at least without injuries and with a good surrounding team), but aways seems to have the next new “in” QB hanging around the sideline. Rodney Dangerfield got more respect than KO. TT will not have that problem (just the way it is)…and therefore he if he produces he will finally unite the fans behind a single QB choice.
Trade him. I see no reason why we can't get a 3rd round pick for him which can be used on D.
The redskins got McNabb for a second. The chiefs got Cassel for a 2nd (but his salary was twice what Orton’s is for the year considering he was franchised). The raiders paid a 4th for Campbell and The seahawks paid a 3rd for Whitehurst.
Orton is better than Campbell and Whitehurst but worse than McNabb (not this year anyway) and Cassel IMO. I think a team will pay a 3rd for him.
Tim Tebow wears 3WM and drinks Tuscan whole milk.
Orton’s a guy that can do really well and have success if the team around him is largely in place. He’s not a good fit for Denver because it just wastes his time, and he isn’t the type of player that can (or wants to) carry a team on his back. Trade him, I am sure his value is higher than it was when we brought him in. Denver is a quarterback town and needs a QB that they can build a culture around, and Orton is 100% not that.
Trade Orton for a 4th round pick (I hope). Pick a pass catching TE or D-linemen to replace Fields or McBean. Make Brady Quinn the backup and let Tebow shine as starter.
Tim Tebow > Kyle Orton
McD said Quinn and Tebow equal in development
Quinn had some serious skills coming out of college and has been a starter. Sounds like he might actually be capable of the back up role …. I won’t be sold until I see him in pre season … he sucked this last preseason.
I would love to keep Orton, but he will want to be traded if he isnt the starter
With the possibility of an 18 game schedule in the near future we need 2 capable QBs due to injuries, especially if Tebow keeps trying to run LBs over rather than slide. I would love to have Orton and Tebow, but Orton will want to start for whichever team he is on. I think there will be a good number of very interested teams seeking Orton (I believe Minnesota and San Fran will make strong pushes for him. With Orton as their starter I believe both of these teams become favorites to win their respective divisions.)
He's already said "if i'm here next year, i assume it will be as a starter"
So….he’s pretty much said he wants to start. I don’t think he’ll be back.
SB is Deb 6 , FA period normally starts at the end of the Feb . and the lockout if it happens will be March 3rd
We are gonna be pressed for time so I dont know how we would be able to pull off a trade when we dont even have coach in place .
If there is a lockout we have around 30 days from the time the SB ends to try and trade Orton not to mention the NFL combine will be going on and we wlll have a pretty high pick.
