Well it may very well seem we have our QB position sorted. I believe we do. I know, I know, many of you are still in wait and see mode, I respect that but I feel it’s a copout to a certain degree. We can wait and see in practically every aspect of daily life. I feel on SB Nation it’s more fun to go out on a limb, follow your gut, offer an opinion and suffer or reap the consequence.
So here you go:
Knowshon is a serviceable running back nothing more. He’s a good teammate and hard worker. He shows some flashes but is relatively not special. Forget about his health concerns in the observation. Also I don’t want to hear how poor our O-line was this year, special players make special plays and don’t get run down from behind. In 423 attempts his longest run was 36 yards (last year) and 25 yards (this year). Didn’t TD have multiple 50+ yard runs in a single game more than once? Special indeed.
I have been very frustrated with Knowshon, it started the day we drafted him. Orakpo was there for the taking, and we need defense. OK being a loyalist, I gave the new regime the benefit of the doubt and held out (no pun intended) hope for something special. I am still waiting.
I have come to the conclusion that Knowshon Moreno is to RB’s as Kyle Orton is to QB’s. The good news is that a serviceable RB can still fit into a successful team where as a serviceable QB guiding a team goes nowhere fast.
Addressing the 2011 draft; defense is so very important and the front 7 is the second most importance to a team other than a QB. We must address the front 7 first and foremost this draft. I believe in Sayre’s post he mentioned some viable trades to add picks, I agree, that must also happen.
I think maybe we should consider a late round RB, maybe they become special maybe just insurance.
I love Quizz Rodgers and if he comes out he could be special and had late:
