Coaching Candidates

Stay connected for news and updates

Well, I am a bit sad about the canning of Josh McDaniels, and the best way to move on is to speculate who could be our next coach.  I have two names at the top of my list.

1) Troy Calhoun
2) Rob Ryan

Troy Calhoun is a former assistant coach with the Denver Broncos under Mike Shanahan and was an offensive coordinator for the Houston Texans.  He is now doing a great job as the head coach at the Air Force Academy.  Calhoun is highly regarded within the management of the Broncos organization.

Rob Ryan, brother of Rex, and son of Buddy, is currently the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns.  He has worked for the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots in previous stops.  He has an attacking, aggresive style of defense similar to the one Rex employs.

Other candidates could be:

Gary Kubiak if he's fired by the Texans this year

Leslie Frazier, if he is not retained as interim coach with the Vikings.

Jeremy Bates, if Bowlen wants young coordinator again.

Jon Gruden-Who, however, has not expressed interest in coaching next year.

So what do you think, who will be the next head coach (not counting interim)
