Pre Combine Mock Draft

Pre Combine Mock Drafts - some of the thoughts and rumors that are swirling.  I don't think Denver will trade for Matt Cassel - just too hard to pull off.   I do still think that Denver will trade for Donovan McNabb.

Denver's Free Agents

1.     Kyle Orton - signs a 2 year $8 million deal.

2.     Brandon Marshall -  Franchised - McDaniels wants to control what happens to Marshall - kind of like when New England Franchised Matt Cassel and then traded him to a team they wanted.

3.     Elvis Dumervil -    Tagged a 1st and 3rd Round tender and stays with Denver.

4.     Matt Praeter -  signs a 4 year $8 million deal.

5.     Chris Kuper -  signs a 5 year $ 18 million deal.

6.     Vonnie Holliday - signs a 2 year $7 million deal.

Free Agents signed

1.     Bobbie Williams - Guard - Cincinnati - 6'4" 345lbs

2.     Dwan Edwards - DE - Baltimore - 6'3" 291lbs

3.     Kevin Walter - WR - Houston Texans - 6'3" 218lbs

4.     Kevin Mawae - Center - Tennesee - signs a 1 year deal.

1.     Brandon Marshall is traded to Seattle for their 1st(14th) , 4th and Deion Branch.  Jeremy Bates is Seattle's Offensive Cord. and he will push hard to trade for Marshall.

2.     Tony Scheffler is traded to St Louis for their 3rd Round Pick.

3.     Denver trades it's 1st Round Pick(#14 via Seattle) to Philly for Donovan McNabb.   McNabb will love to team with Brian Dawkins and Correll Buckhalter again.

4.     Kyle Orton is traded to Buffalo for their 3rd Round Pick.   Orton would be a great pickup for Buffalo.

1st Round PIck--------------------------------------------------------   Rolando McClain - ILB - Alabama - 6'4" 252lbs - tackling machine.

2nd Round Pick ----------------------------------------------------------------     Cam Thomas - DE / NT - 6'4" 331lbs - Mike Mayock believes Cam Thomas can play DE in the 3-4 like Ron Brace in New England.

3rd Round Pick(#65 via St Louis)-------------------------------------------------     Matt Tennant - Center - Boston Collegee - 6'4' 292lbs - will take over for Mawae in 1 year.

3rd Round Pick(#73 via Buffalo)-------------------------------------------------------     Amari Spievey - CB - Iowa - 6'0" 190lbs - Excellent CB for a team who needs a CB.

3rd Round Pick--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jared Veldheer - T - Hillsdale - 6'7" 318lbs -  This guy reminds people of Sebastian Volmer of New England Patriots.

4th Round Pick(#105 via Seattle)--------------------------------------------------    LeGarrette Blount - RB - Oregon - 6'1" 245lbs - Blount will team with Moreno and Buckhalter to give Denver a Big Back.

4th Round Pick---------------------------------------------------------------------     Linval Joseph - 6'6" 320lbs  - Joseph is a Big NT type who is very disruptive and will give Denver another Big body on the Dline.

6th Round PIck ------------------------------------------------------------------------    John Skelton - QB - Fordham - 6'5" 245lbs -   Skelton - has a CANNON but is going to need 2-3 years with great coaching.  He will take over for McNabb in 4-5 years.

7th Round Pick------------------------------------------------------------------------Zoltan Meskoe - Punter - Michigan.

Final Thoughts

1.      Donovan McNabb will provide Denver a QB who can get The Denver Broncos to The Super Bowl in the next 5 years.  Drafting John Skelton who can take over for McNabb once he retires.

2.      Kevin Walters and Deion Branch will help offset the loss of Brandon Marshall.

3.      Matt Tennant was rated by Wes Bunting as a Future Star at Center.  So drafting him is key.
