MOCK DRAFT! (Just Kidding, It's Another Uniform Concept)

I was originally going to post this as a comment on Orange Crush'd's post, but it got too long and I didn't want to hijack his thread. So anyway, here's the backstory: I was perusing them internets when I found a couple of people who had used EA Sports's Team Builder to make a couple of Browns mocks. I have made probably hundreds of Broncos concepts, but never using the Team Builder until now, and I think it's fantastic. I'd like a couple more font options, but other than that it is an excellent way to get what's in my imagination on the screen.

So I played with it a little, and I came up with a Broncos mock that I am pretty proud of. I used a lighter blue and a warmer orange, and I tried to get back to what I think should be the Broncos' identity: Blue helmet, orange jersey, white pants. White away jersey with white pants, although I'm also open to orange.

I'll preface this by saying that I'm a stickler for tradition. I HATE piping on uniforms (Cardinals, Falcons) and I hate monochromatic schemes even more (Bills, Seahawks. Home pants should NEVER be the same color as the jersey.) That's not to say that I hate all modern concepts; I like the Titans just fine, and I can handle the Broncos despite the new love for the blue pants and the sacrilegious lack of orange. My favorite NFL uni of all time was the one the Jaguars wore from 2004-2008. The way they integrated the gold with the teal was gorgeous. So I guess I'm a fan of concepts with an "old meets new" feel.

This one's all old school though. It's based on what we wore in 1965, but the sleeves are a little different. I used a "Steelers-esque" sleeve stripe, but with our colors and a number on top of it. I know it might be kind of hard to see from the stands or through a low-resolution TV monitor, but I love the way the number looks sitting right on top of the stripes. I also made the pants stripes match the helmet stripe, and I love the way the white trim inside the tri-stripe turned out. Here's what the home looks like:

The away is based off the same template (I like teams that stick to the same thing on the home and away unis, and this is probably the source of my hatred for the Cowboys.) The main issue with the current away set is the lack of orange. I hate our aways almost as much as our monochromes because of this. So the biggest thing I did was integrate more orange. There's not much more to say, so here it is, along with an alternate away with orange pants:

I like the simplicity of the white pants version better. And I also neglected to mention the helmet, which would just have the logo on it, but I'm too lazy to edit it to have these colors, and the collar, which just has the same stripes was the pants and which I fear may be too much.

So there it is. Tell me what you think, and submit what you come up with in the comments. I love to look at what other people come up with. I'll probably do 5 more just in the comments.
