RULES
1. When commenting in this post, please DO NOT use the "subject" line for anything other than to announce official picks. Limiting the use of that space will make the picks - and my announcement - stand out and therefore make the draft itself easier to follow.
2. Representatives were asked to submit to me (via e-mail) an ordered target list for their respective teams at least 48 hours prior to the start of this mock draft. Any lists received after that time may still be used, but will not be binding.
3. If a team's representative is not available to make a selection and they either did not submit an ordered target list or said list is no longer applicable, I will then make the pick for them by simply selecting the best player available from NFL Draft Scout’s overall prospect rankings. At my discretion, however, I may deviate slightly from strictly selecting BPA in order to accommodate for need; that said, I guarantee that all picks will be made in a timely fashion.
4. When I announce that THE [LOCATION] [TEAM NAME] ARE NOW ON THE CLOCK, the respective representative will have five minutes to make their pick. Once the selection is recorded, I will then move things along by making the pertinent announcement; that process will continue until we conclude the mock drafting session, with possible breaks therein only if necessary.
5. When an official pick is made, it will be announced in the exact format that follows: WITH THE [X] PICK IN THE DRAFT, THE [LOCATION] [TEAM NAME] SELECT: [PLAYER NAME], [POSITION], [SCHOOL]. Once again, this will be done in the "subject" line of the comment box and the message space will be left blank. Comments on a pick should be made by replying to that official announcement, so long as you observe the general rules of conduct that govern this site when doing so.
6. As soon as possible after making a selection, team representatives are required to e-mail a brief explanation of sorts to me. I suggest that it is writen in the first person as an actual member of your chosen team’s management being asked about the pick in an interview. Since I will compile these and post them alongside the respective picks, I ask that they be kept short.
7. If the volume of comments in this post negatively affects our ability to use it, then I will publish an updated fresh one. If that becomes necessary, I will announce the decision when I begin working on the new one and when it is posted.

The Rams get some help on the D Line with the 6’- 2", 291 lbs Samoan.

Good pick, I love the Samoans!
If we had a Samoan on our team last year, we would have won at least 10 games last year. This is a scientific fact.

I was starting to ask in the last thread if folks had seen the NFLN Pike interview with Mooch and Mora
pike actually seemed pretty intelligent

Just checked in on the second round. 2 thoughts: I’m hoping Tony Pike was a joke and only 1 TE in 2 rounds? Crazy
that is crazy only 1 TE in two rounds.

Yeah, the TE thing is odd, but not implausible. As for the Pike pick, much like the Iupati selection, it was the worst case scenario for a rep that wasn’t present…

they’ve got Shady and Weaver, a big complementary RB would be useful, but I wouldn’t call it a need with how pass-heavy Philly is.

I didn’t know him before the combine, either. He’s impressive. lol
Veldheer, who measured in at the combine at 6-feet-8 1/8 and 312 pounds, came into the weekend as probably a late second-round to third-round prospect but could get teams to take an even harder look at him after his performance Saturday.
He ran the 40 in 5.09 seconds, which was fourth among the linemen. He also tied for first in the three-cone drill (7.40 seconds) and 20-yard shuttle (4.51 seconds); tied for third in the vertical jump (33 inches), was fifth in the broad jump (9-feet, 1-inch) and ninth in the bench press (32 reps of 225 pounds).
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Hmmmmm, aren’t you guys working out a big deal for Brackett? Is there a need for Washington or would he play OLB in your system?
Washington might be an even better fit at WILL than he is at MIKE, and he might be able to handle SAM in their scheme too.
They are going to pay Brackett, but I don’t see him getting more than 3 years. Washington could spend a year on the bench, 1-2 at OLB then take over the middle.

The 49ers had some issues with their safety play this season. Dashon Goldson is a good special teamer and Michael Lewis is a major liability in the passing game. This position needs to be addressed to keep the development of this defense moving forward.

Most of the picks have been done by you. I feel bad about that. It’s a shame that so many couldn’t pick after they signed up.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

I think so. I was debating between him and Veldheer for the Bills. Safford isn’t ranked very high, but I think he’s rising. His combine was pretty impressive, IMO.

I like Saffold
I like Newhouse for a little later, too. The problem I have is that the players I like seem to always get pushed up, and both of them are now rising.
no goats, no glory.
Just surveyed the results so far.
I guess the Broncos are making an impact in FA, then, eh?

Mike Iupati is HUGE reach at 12
as is Tony Pike. Tony Pike looks like a toothpick. Dude is going to get injured the first time he gets hit by an NFL Level OLB or DE. That was a huge reach for both the players for the broncos in this mock
by gnarlybroncodude on Feb 28, 2010 6:39 PM MST reply actions
maybe you don't want or like Pike but I don't see him as a reach in that area of the draft at all.
I do agree on Lupati being a reach as he has been hurt by his combine performance i think

I think that he’d be fine there, in another draft. This one, however, had loads and loads of talent at that pick that we could have taken. If this draft wasn’t so deep, I wouldn’t be as upset with this pick, as I am.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

I think I did ok for the Steelers
but I would’ve rather had Asamoagh than Mike Johnson, but I was gone. From looking at all the teams, I have to say I think Denver did the worst. Thats not suppose to be the case here!

had to go with mike cause i guess thats what the guy wanted or was the highest rated (my board has him rated one spot above Asamoagh)

The Pats came out alright
- was the most questionable now that I look back on it. I keep on thinking that I should’ve went w/ Myron Rolle instead. I really wanted Colt McCoy to back up Brady.

If we’re going to take Iupati (or Pouncey) in the first round then we may as well trade back and get some extra picks.
LaMarr Houston
justified my pick of him and then some yesterday at the combine
