So I was thinking about Brandon today, and no, not in a gay way, more like in an enigmatic way. Pondering questions more than answers, yet hopeful that somehow the light would just flip on. It was as if I was somehow hoping to crack the encrypted code code and finally see clearly the fine print and the last words in the Marshall Plan. Obviously that didn't happen. But I did come up with a question. Where in the world is Kennard McGuire, Brandon's agent?
The off-season's early, these things take time, blah, blah, blah. Brandon's agent pretty much knocked down the doors in Dove Valley the day after his client's legal troubles were dismissed. He was yelling show me the money before the court clerk even had the paper work filled. Are we to now believe that patience is a virtue that he and they learned? Personally, I doubt it. So where's he at? No really, where's he at? I figured maybe some of you with local Colorado news may be able to shine some light on it. Maybe he is/has been there?
Brandon is saying all the right things, sure. But if his agent isn't in Denver then I find it very likely that both Marshall and the Broncos have openly agreed to field trade offers. I say 'openly' because the team would have had to go to Brandon and say look, you open your mouth and get all 'Brandon' on us in the news again this year, and you'll lessen your trade value and salary value and it's bad for both parties. (Translation: We'll ship you to the STL if you pull that S--H-you-know-what on us again.)
Now I'm not suggesting Marshall is definately on his way out; I'm only saying that he and the Broncos have likely come to an understanding, at least in the short term. He didn't mature that much over night and neither he nor his agent multiplied their patience by pie. If they were sitting in the dark waiting waiting for the phone to ring, I think Brandon would be in the news. And if his agent were in Denver hammering out a contract, I think we would have heard about it.
So what does all this mean? Well, nothing really. I realize many will say it's too early to jump to conclusions, and I tend to agree. Yet, I can't shake the feeling that if Kennard McGuire isn't in the building, then both parties are at least very open to a divorce. So again...
