Which Veteran Player Would You Want Most as a Bronco Through Trade or Free Agency?
There have been a lot of rumors milling about the AFC West since Who Dat? won the big one (and even a bit before). And I would love to gauge how y'all feel about some of them.
The most surprising is probably Donovan McNabb. ESPN reports that Denver has called several times to inquire about the 33-year-old QB, along with a few other teams. Is it just the Broncos covering their bases and investigating every option or something more?
Another that has stuck around since last off-season is Julius Peppers. A long-term deal with Carolina is reportedly now off the table. Peppers is at the top of the hill, if not already over it, and would come at a price, but would you like to see him opposite Doom?
Ladainian Tomlinson is sick and tired of being under-appreciated and is ready to jump ship. Running backs after 30 are risky, but Josh McDaniels and the New England system have had luck with veteran running backs throughout the entire decade. Would you welcome this Charger with open arms?
When we were sure BMarsh was on his way out a lot of folks thought Anquan Boldin would be a good replacement. His troubles with the Arizona management are well documented and there's always a chance he could move teams. He's tough and has a similar style to BMarsh, but he has some wear and tear. Is he a good replacement?
Or is there someone else? Let us know.

One guy I'm mildly intrigued by is Chad Pennington.
I know he’s not gonna get this team to the Super Bowl next year, but neither is Orton or McNabb.
He could be had cheaper and on a shorter term than Orton and he’s got the same accurate but can’t throw deep flawed skillset. The Broncos QB of the future is not on this team or out in free agency. He’ll need to be drafted in the next few years, and I think Pennington would be a good stopgap until then.
I wouldnt mind his signing
but if he was the best guy we brought in, id be po’ed. He is Orton with less arm strength, which is what we dont need. I wouldnt be mad tho to see him brought in to compete for the QB spot
Peppers
If the money was right, that experiment has huge potential and likely won’t cost draft picks.
Good luck with the Redskins Mr. Mike! I'll be watching and cheering for a non-Bronco team for the first time in my life. Well, except when they play the Broncos!
+1

I'd like us to resign all our FA's
and use our draft picks, and any left-over cap space on multiple lower-cost vets to address areas of need as opposed to signing one or two high-cost FAs.
We live in an age when instant gratification isn't fast enough
Vince Wilfork, easy
Hes surprisingly not that old, has played for McD before, and is IMO the best NT in the league.
Keep our own
and refresh the roster w/draft picks. If we can manage a few interior OL via FA, that would be great but I don’t think w/the CBA looming w/such question marks, a conservative approach would best suit Denver.
Say hello to my fast...
Vince "Beefcakes" Wilfork..Me gusta.

I saw that tub at the Pro Bowl up close. He looks like Cartman after he kept ingesting the protein shakes and turned into a blob.
No me gusta Vince butterball Wilfork.
That guy is one big signing bonus away from becoming the worst FA pickup in history.

Peyton Hillis
From what I heard he’s a team player, has great hands. looked pretty good in limited showings and is a ferorcious short yardage back.
My understanding is he could probably be had for cheap because he was severely underutilized on his current team. I’d love to trade our 7th round pick for him.
You probably get this a lot. This isn't the real Caesar's Palace is it?....Did Caesar live here?
You know where I wanna go? I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen
I’d want Denver to trade BM for Patrick Willis.

Better chance with David Harris
Crazy Man over their by the Bay just drafted Crabtree, but Jets need a WR. Their about a BM away from being able to win the big MF game.
Good luck with the Redskins Mr. Mike! I'll be watching and cheering for a non-Bronco team for the first time in my life. Well, except when they play the Broncos!
I want Peyton Manning
Then maybe this McNabb junk will go away.
Not over Manning.....
Or Big Ben, or Brees, or even Rivers (ew….I’m gonna go shower now). I’ll probably get flamed, but Brady’s not a top 5 QB at this point.
How about one to shore up our O-line
Eugene Amano, G, Great run blocker and he is only 28 so he has a good number of years left on him.

Its going to be interesting to see who hits the market...
…that nobody is even thinking of right now. Its possible that some teams are going to take advantage of the uncapped year by slashing payrolls. Its going to be interesting to say the least.

Hadn't thought of that

No cap means no minimum amount that all teams have to pay out (as well as no maximum amount). Wow. I wonder if any teams will go that route. Fascinating thought.
