Don't Count Me Out: Brandon Lloyd Will be Part of 2010 WR Corps
Amidst the reports and rumors of the movement of Brandon Marshall, Broncos fans can rest easy that at least two Brandons will be returning to the team in 2010.
Brandon Lloyd, who was signed last June, received a two year contract from the Broncos worth $2.05 million dollars, and a signing bonus of $500,000. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that due to Lloyd's signing bonus (similar to what we saw last year with LaMont Jordan), he will be with the team almost assuredly in 2010 unless the Broncos want to eat that money.
Lloyd often goes unnoticed when talk of Broncos wide receivers comes about, but he showed flashes of big play ability in 2009, and the team saw enough from him to give him a job, a raise, and quite probably some playing time in 2010.
Last season, Lloyd had eight receptions for 117 yards including a very solid four catches for 95 yards in a week 17 loss to Kansas City.

Lloyd
He was a non factor last year … unless he gets substantially more playing time 2010 will be much of the same.
100% agree
If Marshall leaves I expect Lloyd to have a bigger role next year. I was really impressed with him in the Philiadelphia and KC game, in fact he and Gaffney were the lone bright spots in the KC game. Especially since I saw a decline in Stokely’s ability to seperate at the end of last year I think Lloyd can be a major contributor.
Brandon Lloyd has always had great talent and ability. Injuries have hurt him in the past. Here’s hopping he’ll be productive.

I halfway expect Stokely
To retire this year.
Not that I want him to, but I would like to see him retire a Bronco.
Why does Madden suck at ranking the Broncos so much?
I'd agree RMT
I think this is a “covering the bases” move in case Marshall isn’t in orange and blue next fall.
We live in an age when instant gratification isn't fast enough
I fully expect
Marshall to back with the Broncos in 2010. I just don’t see any team wanting to give a 1st for him.
agreed
if seattle wanted to part with the 6th they would have and the Bengals are now out of the mix, leaving us with no one in pursuit

personally
this was my best case scenario. We’ll get him again, motivated to produce again, and the market has dictated his value isn’t as high as he would have wanted from the Broncos. In the end, maybe not before the CBA is resolved, we may just wrap him up long term and claim the benefits of an at-long-last-mature Brandon Marshall.

Lloyd is a solid backup WR
He doesn’t wow me, but I don’t worry about him coming into games and being a liability. He can play the game and he does a decent job for sure.

He does seem to make the catches that are thrown where the defender can't get to it though.
McDaniels must have his reason for not playing Lloyd as much as he did, but I would of liked to have seen more. Maybe the last game put him over the hump of doubt.
Good to hear
I really liked when we picked him up and from what I saw of him in the preseason. However it’s too bad he was utilized enough. I hope we see more of him in 2010 with or without Marshall.
Another WR I would like to see get some time is McKinley. Wasn’t he put on IR last season? If so then I hope he is better.

I think McKinley is going to be better than
Most people give him credit for.

Like Lloyd
I don’t expect Lloyd to be a hedge for BM’s possible leaving (I presently expect BM to be a Bronco in 2010). I see Lloyd (perhaps with Gaffney) as replacing Stockely.
If the OL improves as much as I hope, the passing game will change some IMO. Lloyd, Royal, McKinley and/or Gaffney will have bigger roles.

I like Lloyd
He had some nice moments for us and will just get better with playing time. Plus I am partial to him because he took the time to sign my 9 yr old son program even when the pen didn’t work so well.
My image is the Circa 1960-’61 Broncos home uniform sock. Some what folk lore to me ... but referred to as the clown sock by my Dad.

I love Lloyd...
I loved when he was signed several years ago, and it seems like he’s made some great plays when he’s in. I’m not a coach so I don’t see everything, but he’s one player that I’ve felt deserves more PT.
Loved this guy when McDaniels picked him up last year!
One of Orton’s more spectacular (if not particularly prolific) targets with the Bears and now with us. Great hands. Improbable things seem to happen when he’s given an opportunity.

Hopefully we will see more Orton to Lloyd in 2010.

History doesn't favor Lloyd
He didn’t play up tp potential with SF and they let him go, he showed flashes of potential with Washington, but no consistency and they let him go, he showed flashes of potential with Denver, but that’s all so far. I like him when he’s on, but don’t know if Denver can count on him when they need him. I hope he does well, but I’m not gonna get excited about him.
lloyd is a #3 max
Whoever said he will get better with more playing time has no idea what they are talking about. He’s like a 7 year vet… He is what he is, and isn’t going to get any better. If anything, his elite speed could leave and he gets worse.
Folks don’t understand how bad this guy is if relied upon to do too much.
As a DC resident, his performance as a redskin was perhaps the worst starter WR play I’ve ever seen. He ran the wrong routes, dropped the easy catches… Killed drives single-handedly. Was basically awful in every way.
He has some physical skills that can make him intriguing, and potentially useful on a limited basis. But he’s proven to be a liability every single time someone has asked him to start, and I’d put big money that he would do the same in Denver.

I'm with you
Lloyd has a well-known history of not being dependable when needed. He flashes the ability to be a real player from time to time, but he’s the model of inconsistency. I sincerely hope we won’t have to depend on him at any time during the season.

If Marshall Stays?
Should we still draft Dez Bryant? I mean our WR corps would be STACKED, Marshall out right Bryant out Left Royal in the slot with Gaffney. Hell yes, even Orton can’t look bad with that set up?
For the Record:
I don’t want Bryant, I think he’s another Diva. Just thought it would be a sweet set up.
