Broncos Mock Draft
With news of the recent signings and Rolando McClain being drafted a lot has changed. I am also assuming that we do not sign anymore starters, most likely o line depth maybe a backer or special teamer.
Pre Draft Trades
1. Broncos trade Brandon Marshall to Seattle for first round pick (14) and third round pick
2. Broncos trade Tony Scheffler fourth round pick and 2011 fifth round pick to Browns for second round pick
First Round pick 11
Dez Bryant-WR OSU- With Marshall gone we have no true number one, and if Royal continues his sophomore slump than we are weak on a number two receiver as well. Dez Bryant may be the best receiver in the class and I hate drafting receivers high but we need one. Another option would be to draft Dan Williams here and Arrelious Benn in round 2.
First Round Pick 14
Mike Iupati-OG-Idaho- We used the 12th pick overall to draft Knowshon Moreno and he needs help. This guy is a great run-blocker and has terrific size. His pass blocking is questionable but should improve.
Second Round
Terrence Cody-NT-Alabama
There are still many questions about him, but the fact is Jamaal Williams may only be here 1 year and he may not even stay healthy all year. Cody has trimmed down to 350, and has been working hard to do that, he has lost 20 lbs. in about a month. Great Run Stuffer, will only play 2 downs, but Bannan or Baker can play Nose on third down.
Second Round
J.D Walton-C-Baylor
Walton is a good size center at 6-3 300 and has good technique in pass and run blocking. He should battle for and possibly become the starting center
Third Round
Dexter McCluster-HB-OLE Miss
I really do not care what his 40 time was at the combine, they guy simply makes plays and changes games and has the explosiveness the Broncos missed last year. Not to mention he is a return threat.
Third Round
Jamar Chaney-ILB-Mississippi State
Good size, great athleticism and range, had a productive senior season in the SEC.
Sixth Round
David Pender-CB-Purdue
Good size, 13 pass break ups and Big ten all second team
Seventh Round
LeRoy Vann-CB/KR/PR-Florida A&M
Not really an NFL corner but 6 returns for TD's cant hurt, id like this value in this sevent round
With the trades i projected we wouldnt have a fourth or fifth round pick and i dont think the Broncos will spend higher than a fourth on a QB. Canfield would be a solid late round pick but i dont see the point in drafting another sixth round qb.

FYI
Seattle does not have a 3rd round pick this year.
damn
i just wanted to show some players who i thought had fallen off the radar sort of that i liked, i think Cody is a beast and the fact he trimmed down 20 lbs. before the combine shows his hard work…..i love McCluster too

Thought
Xanders interview said that in the Broncos interviews at the combine some players elimated themselves from consideration. Then I read in MSM that bryant gave bad interviews. Makes me go Hmmmm…
From what others have said on this sight about Iupati’s senior bowl effort, I wonder if he is even 1st round material since he is a Gaurd

No Dez
The guy has question marks for character. And based on the guys McD has brought in i.e, Dawkins, Green and the like (high character guys) and the reason he wants BMarsh gone it just doesn’t add up. I like Thomas or Benn. We need Dan Williams or McLain in the first. And from what it sounds like Seattle isn’t dealing
I've read things that Dez would probably throw a hissy fit if he was asked
to run routes between the hashes ( inside) . A randy moss type is fine but I want tuff physical recievers, not big babies. I’m off his wagon. LOVE McCluster pick though. He’s the one guy I REALLY want on our team.
i think this might be one of the worst mock drafts ive ever seen up here….and seattle has no 3rd..and cody wont last that long….and dez bryant is a problem waiting to happen so no reason to pick him up seeing you traded away another problem wr….and lupati is not good enough for the 14th pick in my opinion

no need to attack me by saying that
i did not know seattle didnt have a third rounder relax….
i have seen multiple mock drafts from “experts” that all have cody going early second or very late 1st round, if not that then mid second round. Dez is a problem and thats why i said underneath i would be ok and probably more satisfied with Dan Williams being picked there and Arrelious Benn in the second. Think whatever you want about Iupati, i personally do not like drafting guards that early, and i dont like drafting for need if there is a very good player there the organization feels can help out the best. But Iupati is a guy who can probably help us out very much. Barone can help him with his hands and footwork on pass protection, and he is already an excellent run blocker.

I like the Cody pick
but I don’t think that Seattle will give up anything more than a first. They don’t even want to give up a first as of right now. I also don’t like the Dez Bryant pick. I would love to see us take Golden Tate though. IMO he’s the best reciever in the draft.

Nate there is a possibility that J Clausen might be there at 11...
Would you pull the trigger? I’m leaning towards Joe Haden since the news on McClain…
I think we will be scratching our heads again this year with McD/X's picks.
If they get the players that are going to help the team succeed then I’m all for that player. I trust their judgement to make the right call.
Yeah, I haven't the slightest idea what McX will do.
If all I know, we’ll take spiller at 11. I think if Clausen is there at 11 we have to pull the trigger. Not too sure how happy I’d be, but I think he has great potential, his character just worries me. I heard a while back that his teammates didn’t even like him. I do think however that Haden will be long gong at 11. Some players I’d be happy with in the first couple rounds would be B Spikes, McClain, Pouncey, Lupati, Golden Tate, T Cody, and R Saffold. I may turn into a psycotic alcolholic if we draft bryant though!

Doubtful Seattle gives up a 3rd in addition to a 1st
Again, they could work a sign and trade deal with someone above them to sign BM, give their 1st round pick to the Broncos and then trade BM to Seattle for their 14th pick strait up.

no way
I am not attacking but if you have been watching the NFL news the last week, you would know that there is no way we get a 1st for Marshall. Let alone that much for Sheffler. People know we will keep both of them if we do not get a 1st rounder and they all ran for cover. Marshall has to be asking himself if his antics were worth it now. They are quality players even if they are sub par people and there is no way to get the value for them in this new NFL environment. Any other year, maybe but not this one.
