Scout.com: Vladimir Ducasse Profile
With Pro Days underway, team visits and private workouts are now being scheduled and the Denver Broncos are not wasting any time. Scout.com has learned that Broncos Offensive Line Coach Clancy Barone will work out one of the more intriguing offensive lineman available this April, Massachusetts OG Vladimir Ducasse, at UMass on Thursday, March 11th.

is there any sites that compile the people we interviewed at the combine / work out privately?
I think we could probably take the list and eliminate half of the mocks going on =)

+1
that’d be a good list to have if anyone can find/compile it

I wouldn't read too much into it
Many teams will work out players in an attempt to smoke screen other teams, or maybe they saw something they didn’t like and want to verify it or disprove it, just because a team works or doesn’t work out a player, has littel to do with them actually picking said player.
"Me fail english, that unpossible" - Ralph Wiggum
"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem" - Duffman
"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun" - Ash from Army of Darkness
"H.I., you're young and you got your health, what you want with a job?" - Evelle from Raising Arizona
"It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes." - Agent Rogersz from Repoman
Except
I don’t think McDaniels really bothers with the smokescreen thing. I’m not positive but I seem to recall most of the guys we drafted last year had met with or worked out for the Broncos beforehand.

Maybe it's reverse reverse psychology.
He makes you think that he doesn’t smokescreen, but he does smokescreen (which is regular reverse psychology).
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

good sized player
sticks with trend we are aiming for

Good to see some action
or at least hear of it. Thanks John.

I like it
This guy would be fantastic at 45. He dominated fools lining up at guard at the senior bowl. Tackle… not so much. But he’ll be a great guard.
Hey kiddies.... I have Internet candy in my van...
Like him a lot
Goes right in line with what McD is trying to do: beef up the line. And 6’4" 326 lbs. is some beef
Nice prospect
Would love to see him parked right next to Clady.
"All we're trying to do is win the *********** game!" -- Josh MF McDaniels tearing into his offensive line after three false starts in the red zone. The tirade turned the tide of the game, and the Broncos dominated from that point on.
Man, I don't know. I thought I heard he looked terrible at the senior bowl
and I could’ve sworn I heard the nfl network guys commenting on how terrible he looked at the combine and that he doesn’t have the speed/footwork to reach second level blockers in the nfl.
He is a monster though

Harv, your telling me that you don't think Marshall Faulk is qualified to critique OG's sheesh

I didn't tell you anything. I asked a question.
Besides, don’t take me too seriously. That was more a shot at MSM than anything else. It was just a bad joke. ; )

IN - they were talking about him at Tackle
And they were right – he’s not a great tackle. But he’s nearly perfect at guard. He did the 40 in 5.21, which is fine — even pretty good for a guy of his size. He has 34.5 inch arms, which does matter and 35 is perfect. He’s also unusually athletic for his size, which fits the gap blocking and trapping that McD wants to do. Odd but interesting fact – we gave a futures contract to Matt McChesney, who is nearly identical to Ducasse in size at 6’4 and 335. We also gave one to Dustin Fry, our 326 lb center. If those two can be brought along and the Broncos draft Ducasse, the only real issue will be how Harris does on rehab and it’s too early to tell. Seriously big OL, though, and decent athleticism to go with it. Very interesting…..anything can happen at this point, of course, but I’ve been keeping an eye on Ducasse. I was turned off on him at tackle, but I like him a lot at guard.
It all starts with the lines
Did'nt the articale say
He didn’t look as a Tackle. However he did look good as a Guard ?

Got to see Ducasse play a few times this past fall at UMass...
he’s a lot of fun to see live. The Sr. Bowl was really a bad sample of what he can do.

The Sr Bowl is just one game...
I know, I know, coaches are all looking for that special talent when they go to them, but they have hours of game film that they have already studied. I think he would be a great pick, but do you think he will be available at 45?
I think so...
I mean, nothing is certain, and if he starts to get noticed more it’s a possibility that he won’t be there but at this point, I would assume that he will be available…

Does this mean the Broncos are likely to trade up for a higher 2nd rd pick to get him?
Looks like it to me..
I don't think they will need to trade up...
especially if guys like Cody keep rising in value. Ducasse hasn’t done much to make his value any better than it was a month ago, where other players have definitely helped their cause.

Solid prospect
Good to know we’re looking at guards early in the draft.

Interesting is a nice way to put it. :)

Oh wait a minute, there are none! Haha. Seriously though, UMass is a really nice campus.

Yes
He would be a nice add…He is rising up draft boards, has been all offseason save for his offensive tackle blunder at the sr. bowl…nothing to worry about

I like it! That's one big dude!
I’m glad we are resolving DL issues in free agency, which will really expand our draft options.
I was hoping we could at least get a start on fixing the OL in FA as well, but there may be more in-house answers than we are aware of…..Olsen, Fry, McChesney etc..

2nd round value
is where I feel most of the interviews that I have heard of are taking place. There will not be a list of who we have interviewed, because then everyone could find out who we are interested in.
There won't be a list
But teams cannot hide their representatives at Pro Days and with private workouts. If you don’t want other teams to know you’re interested, then you don’t pay any mind to them (see Cutler in 06) in the offseason.
