Would you make this trade?
Denver: Marshall, #11, and #80
to Seattle: for #14, #40, and a 2011 1st round pick.
Why do I ask? jump
In comments with BFree I was feeling that the 3 players that could have the greatest impact with Denver are Pouncey, Iupati, and McClain. Yet. all three of them, (IMO) because of the positions they play are a reach at #11. But, if any of the three were selected #17 I'd say it wasn't a reach. So who to trade down with? Seattle. Could trade like #11 and a 4th round for #14and #40 and then if 1 of the 3 fell, Denver might get 2 of the impact draft choices. But ,Seattle might say but what about Marshall? So I came up with my trade scenario.
To me Broncos still need more compensation. But what do you think and what do you think will make this trade work?

Marshall for 2 1st's and a 2nd?
Who WOULDN"T make this trade? Shoot, throw in Tatupu and 3 of the Seahawks cheerleaders for that matter.
Step aside, my friend, I been doin' it for years.
Said sit on down, open ya eyes, say open up ya ears....
I would make that trade in a heartbeat
Seattle would never do that trade, that is like asking, if Indy would trade Peyton Manning to the Broncos for Kyle Orton and a bag of horse manure, would you do it.

Doh!
Just noticed you threw in the Broncos first as well.
Still, I’d pull the trigger on this for sure.

I think this is very creative...
So we essentially trade 1st rounders this year and also get the #40 this year and next years # 1 for Marshall…Hmmm, I like it.

if we could then trade back into the first round from our #45,
then we might be able to get all three

This trade seems good, though I’d be wary of doing it just to target particular players.
But, you have to keep in mind that your trade is basically this:
Marshall, a 4th or 5th to Seattle: for #40, and a 2011 1st round pick
with Seattle trading us back the 4th/5th + #14 to move up to #11, which they probably don’t want to do. So I imagine they wouldn’t go for it.
I'd do the trade
but I don’t understand your thinking that Seattle would do this. At this point, they don’t want to give up one first so why would they swap firsts this year, throw in a 2nd and a first in 2011. I’m not a pete caroll fan, but he can’t be that stupid.

Seattle
Seattle needs (IMO) are OT and QB they can get 1 at #6 but the quality will drop from #11 to #14.
Researching point values Denver would need to throw in a 3rd round pick.
But my idea as far as Marshall goes a 1st the fallowing year is always worth less than the current year. Also Seattle with the addition of Marshall and 2 OTs Should be better than #14
So getting Marshall for a 4Th a future 1st good for Seattle.

Ha Ha . . . we pillage them just like we did in Chicago!...
Hey, we sacked Chicago, why not sack Seattle? Brilliant!

The value between what they would owe us to move forward from the 14th to the 11th is 150 points, which is a 5th rounder in this year’s draft. So to easier understand the value, for myself anyway, would be to say Marshall and our 5th rounder for their early 2nd round pick this year and a 1st round pick next year.
It’s got merit. But with two picks in the top 11 this year, and adding Marshall to their team, how high are they going to be drafting next year? Might also mention that their division-master Cards lost Warner, Boldin, and Dansbery.
Back to your exact scenario, the thing that I would be against, is that we lose Brandon’s production this year, and move back in the draft and only to gain a 2nd round pick this year. Also, next year’s draft will be financially cheaper, but far less deep.
Good luck with the Redskins Mr. Mike! I'll be watching and cheering for a non-Bronco team for the first time in my life. Well, except when they play the Broncos!
Marshall's value is tied to his contract
What the Seahawks or anyone else will give up for Marshall is tied to what he costs. He’s going to want big up front guaranteed money, and he’s a punch-in-his-wifes-face away from a one year suspension+ and the money is gone – “POOF”. If Marshall will sign a contract without the big up front guarantee, and convinces the team he signs with that he won’t be a pain in the ass if he’s unhappy with it later (he will), they MIGHT give up a first round draft choice. If they have to take a huge risk with big up front money and contract numbers Marshall isn’t worth the 32nd pick in the draft not to mention the 6th or 14th. Marshall is going nowhere – he’ll spend 2 more years with the Broncos and then test the UFA market.
