RMW Mock Draft 8.0 (#7 is retired!)

I've somehow managed to stay away from the mocks while the combine and FA has been playing out. So lets get started after the jump...gotta look out for you mobile users! Pics will be included as well. I like them and it takes more time while I'm bored at work!!

Star-divide

Free Agency is looking a little bare in terms of unrestricted players. There are some restricted players I'd be interested in like Kirk Morrison, but I doubt Oakland lets him come to Denver.

Trades:

Tony Scheffler to Arizona for pick #89 (3rd)

This one is going to be a bit more reserved then ones in the past. Broncos current picks

1st Round: 11th

2nd Round: 45th

3rd Round: 80th, 89th

4th Round

6th Round

7th Round

With the 11th pick (1250) Denver trades to Miami for the 12th (1200) 4th and 5th picks in the 6th Round (25.8, 25.4)

With the 12th pick (1200) Denver trades along 4th pick in 6th (25.8) to New York for the 15th (1050) and 76th (210)

With the 15th pick (New York) Denver selects

Mike Iupati 6'5" 330 lbs G-Idaho

Every fan base out there seems to wan Iupati and we are no different. Clady and Iupati make the best tandem since Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson in Seattle. Maybe considered a reach here, but after a string of pro bowls no one remembers a reach.

With the 45th pick Denver selects

Cam Thomas 6'4" 330 lbs NT North Carolina

More size on the lines. Learns from J-Wall for a year or two and becomes a great 3-4 NT

With the 76th pick (New York) Denver selects

Carlton Mitchell 6'3" 215 lbs WR South Florida

Another big target at WR opposite Brandon for the QBs to throw to. At 6'3" and 4.49 speed has the size and speed to develop into a #1 WR if Brandon leaves in the coming years.

With the 80th pick Denver selects

Donald Butler 6'1" 245 lbs ILB Washington

Came out of no where at the Senior Bowl and earned an invite to the scouting combine. Was limited to only the bench where he did 34 reps at 225. At his pro day ran in the 4.7s. Nice player next to DJ that will work hard and make plays

With the 89th pick (Arizona) Denver selects

JD Walton 6'4" 300 lbs C Baylor

Center with decent size played in a top conference against 2 of the best prospects in the draft class. Can possibly start day 1. With no one else competing let's hope!

4th Round Denver selects

A.J. Jefferson 6' 190 lbs CB Fresno St

Helped himself at the scouting combine. Played for a great football coach at Fresno St and a Belicheck disciple in Pat Hill. Can return kicks taking the role off of Eddie Royal

Denver trades 6th round acquired from Miami to Cleveland for

Brady Quinn 6'4" 235 lbs QB

A former 1st round pick for cheap why not. If I was mocking for another team other then Denver or KC I might not make this move, but Quinn has played in this system and has had some success. Gets to sit behind Orton with no pressure this season who knows what will happen for him.

6th Round Denver selects

Myron Rolle 6'2" 218 lbs S Florida St

Smart guy that learns behind B-Dawk becomes emotional leader on defense for a decade.

7th round Denver selects

Cameron Scheffield 6'3" 257 lbs OLB Troy

Pass rusher from Troy in the 7th round. Just looking to hit a Home Run on this pick. Can rush the QB in passing situations opposite Dumervil.

Very RockyMountainWay and I am glad you didn't pick any DE's LOL...

I like Rolle alot. First I’ve heard of Mitchell and Jefferson. I’ll have to look a little closer at them.

Almost

I really like Alex Carrington and was going to take him with one of the 3rds but went away from him.

With the acquistions of Green and Bannan it would seem we are pretty well set at that position...

Le Kevin Smith, Marcus Thomas, Ryan McBean, Vonnie Holliday, Carlton Powell and Everette Pedesleaux. Somebody has to go out of this group.

Perfect Mocking

Its kind of hard to get any better than this. Feels need with talented players. Someone get in touch with McX; we need to make something like this happen!!!

These are some pretty sweet picks.

I would love this draft. Mine would be slightly different, but variety is the spice of life. Great job!

Exactly

If everyone’s mocks are the same there would be no reason to do them…I like to change mine up each time as well.

Hey man

Don’t sweat the pics! I like em… jump after a jump :) There ends my nazi-ing. I’m over it.

Love the mock. I think Iupati is over-rated from what I’ve seen and read. On the other hand, I think that Pouncey is much more versitile and would be a future difference maker from the centre position. I wouldn’t hesitate taking him at #15. Cam Thomas or one of the next round guards would be a great follow up.

Great job. I like this one a lot.

Although

I wish this would happen, it is never quite as clear cut as just trading value wise. I wish it were. Other than that, great mock.

Really like it except for Quinn

He’s a terrible excuse for a quarterback and a narcissist to boot. Please not. We got Tom Brandstater in the 6th last year and Spencer Larsen in the 6th in 08.

Love the mock . . . but

There is no way Myron Rolle will be available in the 6th round.

well thought out

Other than getting way too much for Sheffler I like these guys. Sheffler will not get anything higher than a 5th if that. Marshall’s value supposedly right now is a 3rd or 4th based on the Boldin trade and those things end up setting value as much as we may not agree.

At this time I think both Marshall and Sheffler come to camp. Things can change though on Draft day.

Congrats, RMT

You called it on the Quinn pick and a 6th – just not the years ;-)

It all starts with the lines
